The Macallan Unveils Its First Multisensorial Shop-in-Shop at Singapore Changi Airport

Renowned single malt Scotch whisky brand The Macallan has made its debut at Singapore Changi Airport with the opening of its first-ever shop-in-shop, in partnership with Lotte Singapore and Changi Airport Group. The new concept underscores the brand’s focus on immersive retail experiences at one of the world’s most prestigious travel hubs. Changi Airport, voted the World’s Best Airport 2025 by Skytrax, continues to be a strategic gateway for The Macallan’s consumer engagement and recruitment efforts across the Asia Pacific region.

Located in Terminal 3, the 19-square-metre shop-in-shop introduces an integrated multisensorial and digital experience designed to immerse travellers in The Macallan’s rich heritage, craftsmanship and exceptional quality. Striking a balance between hospitality and retail, the space is supported by expert Brand Consultants who guide shoppers through the brand’s story, inspiring discovery while offering personalised recommendations.

At the heart of the space is The Macallan’s first-ever island bar within a shop-in-shop, making its global debut at Changi Airport. Designed with an open layout, the island bar encourages closer interaction between travellers and brand ambassadors. Its countertop is finished in The Macallan’s signature red, a colour deeply rooted in the brand’s history, while the surrounding oak wave pattern draws inspiration from the flowing curves of The Macallan Distillery roof and the rolling hills of Speyside, echoing the movement of the River Spey. Together, these design elements create a distinctive visual identity that reflects The Macallan’s architectural and heritage cues.

The island bar also functions as the main tasting area, offering travellers a relaxed setting to sample travel retail exclusives and limited releases, including the Colour Collection and The Harmony Collection Inspired by Organic Cherrywood Lapsang Tea. Enhancing the gifting experience, shoppers can enjoy thoughtful gifting rituals, such as branded ribbons that add a refined finishing touch to gift boxes.

Digital discovery plays a central role in the shop-in-shop experience. Features such as Discover Your Expression, paired with a dedicated nosing tool, help shoppers identify the whisky expression best suited to their preferences or gifting needs. Complementing this is a Six Pillars experience, which incorporates physical sphere sculptures representing each of The Macallan’s Six Pillars. Through this multisensorial installation, shoppers are guided through the foundational elements behind the creation of The Macallan’s distinctive spirit.
