The Singapore Interior Design Awards (SIDA) Gala Dinner 2025 concluded last night with resounding acclaim, closing what judges described as the most rigorous and high-calibre awards cycle in the programme’s history. Presented by the Society of Interior Designers Singapore (SIDS), the prestigious event honoured 108 outstanding global winners from six countries, spotlighting projects that are redefining the future of spatial and interior design.
Held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, the 9th edition of SIDA was graced by Guest-of-Honour Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Finance and National Development, alongside more than 400 guests from the design, architecture, and built environment sectors.
This year’s competition drew over 650 submissions from 13 countries, including a first-time entry from South Africa. Notably, Singapore designers contributed 557 entries, reinforcing the nation’s status as a regional design powerhouse. While submission numbers remained steady, judges emphasised that the quality and execution of completed projects reached unprecedented heights, cementing SIDA’s position as one of the industry’s most respected platforms.
A distinguished international jury, featuring leaders such as Angela Spathonis (Gensler), Ben Stevenson (Foster + Partners), Ar. Razvan I. Ghilic-Micu (Hassell), Ar. Wong Ker How (ASOLIDPLAN), and Sabine Beck (Hirsch Bedner Associates), ensured that only the very best were recognised, further elevating the award’s prestige.
As Singapore strengthens its position as a global design leader, SIDA continues to champion creativity, innovation, and professional excellence. The awards also shine a spotlight on emerging talent through the SIDA Youth Category, with 33 students from Institutes of Higher Learning receiving accolades this year.
In its commitment to nurturing the next generation, SIDA presented the SIDA Youth Excellence Award for the second consecutive year, an annual bursary granting SGD3,000 each to three outstanding students enrolled in local IHLs.
