[Review] Rasel Catering’s Halal Christmas Menu Brings Comfort and Joy to Singaporean Tables with KITKAT Desserts and Free Festive Blind Boxes

Christmas catering can be tricky, especially when balancing traditional holiday fare with the needs of a diverse Singaporean palate. Rasel Catering, a leading halal-certified caterer since 1997 seeks to address this with their Christmas offerings. For 2025, their new ‘Whispers of a Hearthside Christmas’ menu promises to evoke the warmth and nostalgia of a home gathering without the usual kitchen chaos for hosts. Available for pre-order from 10 November, with delivery or self-collection from 24 November to 31 December, this selection is designed for both grand celebrations and cozy, intimate affairs.

For smaller gatherings, like the intimate settings of eight to ten guests, Rasel’s Mini Buffet options bring the same rustic charm in convenient self-heating trays. We recently sampled a curated selection from their mini buffet lineup that perfectly captured the spirit of the season, blending comforting classics with refined holiday treats.

We started off with a handsome Cold Cuts Platter that featured Honey Baked Ham, Chicken Salami, and Smoked Chicken, along with an assortment of dried fruit, nuts, black olives, and artisanal crackers. Simple, fuss-free and great for small bites while mingling.

Moving on to the main courses, the Salmon with Honey Miso Glaze was a delightful mix of savoury and sweet, and the Chicken Meatball Ala Puttanesca was an aromatic addition.

Our personal favourite was the Truffle Shepherd’s Pie with Chicken Ragout. Typically made with beef, Rasel’s version uses a chicken ragout, which we found to be a lighter, yet still incredibly satisfying take on the classic dish. The subtle truffle aroma elevates this comfort food to a higher level.

No Christmas menu is complete without a rich dose of sweet indulgences. This year, Rasel partnered with KITKAT for a series of handcrafted desserts that bring a playful snap of sweetness to the table.

We were spoiled with a generous 1kg Hazelnut Mousse Log Cake Made with KITKAT and a gorgeous assortment of mini desserts: the elegant Winter Matcha Gateau Made with KITKAT , the zesty Spiced Orange & Chocolate Mini Tarts Made with KITKAT , the rich Velvet Forest Royale Praline Crumble Made with KITKAT , and the refined Maison Crème Dome Made with KITKAT.

This indulgent lineup of creamy textures and signature crunch will undoubtedly be a huge hit, especially with the kids and the adults with a sweet tooth.
