Global design firm Gensler has launched a public exhibition in Singapore, inviting residents to imagine and co-create the future of urban life.
Titled “City in 60,” the exhibition opened on 5 November at the Garden Plaza of One Raffles Quay.
The event marks a significant dual celebration, coinciding with both Gensler’s 60th anniversary and Singapore’s 60th year of independence. This shared milestone frames the exhibition’s exploration of the partnership between design and nation-building, looking ahead to the next six decades.
Anchored by the theme “60 Forward,” the exhibition uses interactive and multimedia installations to demonstrate how architecture and design can transform the ways we live, work, and connect.
A central feature allows visitors to share their visions for the “city of tomorrow,” which are then transformed by AI technology into a continuously evolving digital artwork. This collective canvas will grow over the exhibition’s three-week run, creating a living portrait of a future shaped by public imagination.
“City in 60 is an invitation to imagine what the future of our cities could be and the legacies we will leave for generations to come,” shared Angela Spathonis, Managing Director of Gensler Singapore. “The exhibition encourages everyone to reflect on how design shapes human experience, and how our collective choices today can influence the communities of tomorrow.”
Through immersive displays, visitors can explore potential evolutions in workplaces, public spaces, and sustainable urban growth. The exhibition also offers creative activities and exclusive memorabilia for visitors to take home.
Syahzan Kudus, CEO of Raffles Quay Asset Management, the venue sponsor, expressed his support for the initiative. “We look forward to being a part of the city of tomorrow as we support our tenants and the larger community. This partnership with Gensler highlights our shared excitement for the sustainable evolution of the city, workplaces and public spaces.”
To extend the celebration online, Gensler is running an Instagram contest. Visitors who share their creations using the hashtag #Cityin60 and by following @GenslerSingapore stand a chance to win a S0 shopping voucher.
The “City in 60” exhibition is open to the public and free to attend at One Raffles Quay’s Garden Plaza from 3 to 23 November 2025, daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
