CHAGEE Pagoda House Debuts in Chinatown with a Heritage-Inspired Tea & Retail Experience

Tea lovers and culture enthusiasts have a new reason to visit Chinatown with the launch of CHAGEE Pagoda House: CHAGEE Singapore’s first-ever tea-and-retail concept located along historic Pagoda Street. Designed as a modern reimagining of the traditional Chinatown teahouse, the space invites guests to slow down, connect, and rediscover the spirit of community over tea.

A Modern Tea Haven Rooted in Heritage

CHAGEE Pagoda House brings back the essence of old teahouses, once vibrant hubs where merchants gathered and stories were shared, and translates it for today’s audience. The store blends nostalgic textures with contemporary elements: warm wood accents, heritage-style tiles, soft lighting, and communal seating that encourages meaningful conversations over a comforting cup of tea.

Outside, a striking hand-painted mural by local creative collective Tell Your Children (TYC) sets the tone. Titled “Where Jasmine Meets Orchid”, the artwork spans the storefront façade, symbolising Singapore’s cultural fusion and CHAGEE’s mission to bridge tradition and modernity through art and design.

CHAGEE’s First Retail Boutique in Singapore

Marking another milestone, CHAGEE Pagoda House is also the brand’s first retail boutique locally, offering exclusive tea-inspired merchandise. Visitors can shop a range of Singapore-only collectibles, lifestyle products, and a limited-edition capsule collection co-designed with TYC, available solely at this outlet while stocks last.

The opening builds upon CHAGEE’s SG60 celebration of Singapore’s cultural tapestry, following the success of its Orchid Biluochun drink launch earlier this year. Pagoda House extends the narrative with a trio of experiences: Sip. Stay. Shop.

Beyond Tea: Cultural Programming and Community Activities

For the first time, CHAGEE is introducing in-store cultural experiences at Pagoda House. Starting November, guests can look forward to:

  • Palm-reading sessions, a playful tribute to Chinatown’s fortune-telling legacy
  • Calligraphy workshops with local artists
  • Nanyang-inspired conversation cards placed at communal tables to spark reflection and dialogue
  • Guided photography walks around Chinatown, uncovering hidden stories, textures, and history

These activities will be rolled out progressively, turning Pagoda House into a weekend cultural hotspot celebrating craft, storytelling, and connection.

Grand Opening Weekend: 31 Oct – 2 Nov

To celebrate the launch, CHAGEE is hosting a three-day Grand Opening filled with perks, giveaways, and star appeal. Visitors can enjoy a 1-for-1 Large drinks promotion and join the crowd-favourite “Tear & Win” game for a chance to score prizes like luxe bags, the latest tech gadgets, and limited-edition CHAGEE merch.

Adding star power to the festivities, Mediacorp artistes Zhang Ze Tong and Nick Teo will make special appearances, stepping into the role of “store managers” for a day serving drinks, interacting with fans, and creating picture-perfect tea moments alongside guests.
