Singapore has made history at the LEGOLAND School Challenge 2025, with Queenstown Primary School’s Treetop Builders crowned champions in the inaugural Junior Category (ages 7–9). This marks the first time a Singapore school has reached the finals, let alone clinched a win, since the competition’s launch four years ago.
Held at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort in partnership with Malaysia’s Ministry of Education, the Challenge drew nearly 2,000 students from seven APAC countries, all tasked with bringing the theme Build Your Dream Destination to life.
The Treetop Builders wowed judges with their whimsical “Playcascade,” featuring a waterfall, clifftop treehouse, pirate ship, zipline, swing ride, and even a McDonald’s, an homage to the spot where their very first team meeting took place. The team of close friends, who have known each other since age five, spent two months perfecting their design.
They also shone in the new Live Speed Build Challenge on 22 September, racing against the clock to create a jellyfish in just 45 minutes, a test that contributed 20% to the final score.
From futuristic Martian theme parks to eco-friendly island escapes, the Challenge showcased the imagination and skill of Asia’s brightest young builders. Out of nearly 500 entries, 15 school teams advanced to the grand finals across three categories.
Other champions included Legend Inspire from Malaysia’s Sekolah Kebangsaan Port Dickson (Primary) and Lucira from Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Gopeng (Secondary). China also made its debut as a finalist, with Manila Xiamen International School securing 4th place in the Secondary division.
Winners shared over RM200,000 in prizes, including LEGO trophies, exclusive sets, annual passes, and international trips. Queenstown Primary’s Treetop Builders earned a dream adventure at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, while Primary and Secondary champions won exclusive trips to Korea.
Visitors can view the finalists’ creations on display at MINILAND, LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort until December 2025.
