Google Brings AI Mode to Search in Singapore

Google has officially rolled out AI Mode on Search, giving users access to AI-powered answers that handle longer, more complex questions with ease. First launched in the US earlier this year, the feature is now live in English for all Singapore users.

With AI Mode, you can ask multi-layered questions like “What are the events and programmes I can bring my six- and four-year-old kids to this weekend for a fun and meaningful day out in Singapore?” and instantly receive a well-explained response, complete with helpful links for further exploration.

Powered by a custom version of Gemini 2.5, AI Mode breaks down queries into subtopics and pulls from across the web, Knowledge Graph, and real-time shopping data to deliver hyper-relevant results. Early testers found themselves asking questions two to three times longer than traditional searches whether comparing travel destinations, planning trips, or digging into detailed how-tos. Follow-up questions like “What activities can you suggest for a solo traveller?” make it easy to dive even deeper.

But AI Mode isn’t just about text. It’s multimodal, meaning you can search using your voice, a photo, or an uploaded image. By tapping the microphone icon, you can dictate complex queries on the go. And with Google Lens integrated, you can snap a picture to get AI-powered answers from identifying plants to learning how to repot them with step-by-step care guides.
