Step Into Singapore’s Future: Free SG60 Heart&Soul Experience at Orchard Library Lets You Shape and Star In Tomorrow’s Story

Singapore’s SG60 Heart&Soul Experience is not just an exhibition but a deeply immersive voyage into the heart of the nation’s identity.

As the flagship event commemorating 60 years of nation-building, it masterfully combines technology with storytelling, inviting visitors to reflect on Singapore’s past, present, and future. Developed jointly by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) and the National Library Board (NLB), the showcase opened on 26 August 2025 and will run until the end of the year.

The Alvinology team had the opportunity to experience the immersive exhibition earlier this week during a media preview and we totally dig it. We expect the tickets to be highly sought after and will be oversubscribed, so book your free slot early to avoid disappointment!

From the moment visitors step into Orchard Library, you are guided on a 60- to 90-minute personalised journey.

You will be assigned a smartphone from the start to guide your through a personalised journey

The experience begins with “Arrival & Boarding,” where a digital librarian welcomes guests and provides a geo-enabled multimedia guide.

The narrative then unfolds through thoughtfully designed zones like “Wheels of Time,” which traces the evolution of communication and connection in Singapore, and the spectacular “Windows in the Sky”, a floor-to-ceiling multi-sensorial projection that offers a glimpse into a future shaped by collective dreams and artificial intelligence.

Downstairs, the “Library Superstore” presents a playful yet profound exploration of future possibilities, featuring interactive conceptual products and an engaging activity called “Call Me in the Future” where visitors can record voice messages to your future selves.

Another highlight, “Curiosity,” delves into Singapore’s ongoing transformation across key themes such as sustainability, urban development, and transportation.

The journey concludes on a reflective note with “Home is a Feeling,” where visitors receive digital bookmarks featuring works by Singapore’s Cultural Medallion writers and a personalised trailer recapping your imagined future as a touching memento of your experience.

Accessible to All

Admission to the Heart&Soul Experience is free, though the ticketed portion requires booking in advance via the official website. Time slots are released monthly, and the exhibition is suitable for visitors aged 7 and above.

For those unable to secure tickets to the main exhibition, complementary non-ticketed installations at level 1 of Orchard Central and orchardgateway offer accessible and equally meaningful encounters. These include “Becoming Singaporean,” which uses colourised archival footage to trace the nation’s journey, and the “Time Traveller” photobooth, which uses generative AI to transport visitors to reimagined moments from Singapore’s history.

Community and Charity Initiatives

Beyond the exhibition, the “Windows of Time” campaign, a series of photo booths set up at Punggol and Jurong Regional Libraries, Orchard Central, and the Singapore Pools Building, invites the public to participate in a nation-wide charity effort.

For every photo taken, Tote Board and Singapore Pools will donate $1, up to $500,000, to four mental wellness charities, reinforcing the event’s community-driven spirit.

Exhibition Deatils for SG60 Heart&Soul

Having experienced the exhibition firsthand, we found it to be exceptionally well-curated and emotionally resonant.

It succeeds not only in educating visitors about Singapore’s remarkable journey but also in inspiring a sense of shared ownership over its future. The seamless integration of generative AI and immersive storytelling creates a unique, personalised experience for each visitor while strengthening the bonds of national identity.

The exhibition runs until 31 December 2025. Tickets to the main experience can be booked online while the ground-level installations are open to all without booking.
