Potato Head Beach Club Turns 15: A Celebration of Culture, Community, and Circular Living

Bali’s iconic Potato Head Beach Club is celebrating 15 years of unforgettable moments, creative expression, and conscious hospitality. Since opening its doors on Seminyak’s beachfront in 2010, the club has transformed from an architectural marvel of 6,600 reclaimed teak shutters into a thriving cultural village and global destination—where “Good Times, Do Good” isn’t just a motto, it’s a way of life.

From Legendary Sets to Sonic Sunsets

Over the past decade and a half, Potato Head has hosted music’s boldest names, from Grace Jones and Snoop Dogg to Peggy Gou, Overmono, and Palms Trax. Its stage has grown into one of Asia’s most respected cultural platforms. Disclosure even recorded part of an album on-site, while The Suites have moonlighted as music studios for global talents like Peggy Gou.

The birth of Sundown Circle redefined sunset sessions, transforming golden hour into a ritual of rhythm and soul—anchoring Potato Head’s status as more than a beach club, but a movement.

A Deeper Legacy: Sustainability and Innovation

Potato Head’s true legacy lies in its commitment to community, creativity, and regeneration. Now part of Desa Potato Head, the space houses two design-forward hotels, a zero-waste restaurant, subterranean nightclub, and plant-powered ‘farmacy’. As of 2025, the destination sends just 0.5% of waste to landfill—a milestone in circular hospitality.

Under the guidance of Chef Felix Schoener, Potato Head is entering a new era of food innovation. Its latest menu, launching this month, sources 25% of ingredients from food by-products—delivering flavour-packed dishes and drinks that are both sustainable and delicious.

A Season of Celebration: June to August

The 15th anniversary celebration will span three months of pop-ups, cultural activations, and global collaborations. Expect limited-edition drops, community gatherings, and one unforgettable night on 26 July, when long-time friend and underground legend DJ Harvey headlines the anniversary party at the Beach Club.

The next day, a Balinese spiritual ceremony led by Pak Sedana, rooted in Tri Hita Karana philosophy, will honour the past and ground Potato Head’s future in the island’s values of harmony and balance.
