Magic: The Gathering — FINAL FANTASY is officially arriving on Friday, June 13, 2025, and it’s bringing with it a powerful fusion of fantasy worlds. Wizards of the Coast has revealed new card art by legendary FINAL FANTASY artists Toshiyuki Itahana and Toshitaka Matsuda, giving fans even more reason to celebrate this dream collaboration from the Universes Beyond series.

Legendary Artists Bring FINAL FANTASY to Life

The highly anticipated set features the largest collection of FINAL FANTASY artwork ever seen in a single game. Two stunning Borderless FINAL FANTASY Artist Cards have just been unveiled:

• 《Vivi Ornitier》 by Toshiyuki Itahana
• 《Kain, Traitorous Dragoon》 by Toshitaka Matsuda

Each card showcases the unique artistry of its creator, making them must-haves for collectors and fans of both franchises.

Other iconic characters from FINAL FANTASY are also getting the Magic treatment, including:

• 《Choco, Seeker of Paradise》
• 《Moogles’ Valor》, celebrating fan-favourite Chocobos and Moogles
• The majestic 《Summon: Leviathan》, debuting in Magic’s first-ever “Saga Creature” card type — with tsunami-level power to match.

Celebrate the Launch with Special Events in Southeast Asia

To mark the release, Wizards of the Coast will host celebratory events across Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines:

New players can jump into Learn-to-Play sessions, while seasoned planeswalkers can enjoy Sealed and Commander events.

Race, Play, and Win – Chocobo Style

From June 13 to July 24, Chocobo Racing Events — inspired by the beloved FINAL FANTASY VII minigame — will take place across participating WPN stores in Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines). Players can earn points by joining multiple Draft and Sealed events, with rewards including:

• Chocobo Racing Event Series posters
• Pinfinity AR pins
• Exclusive metal tokens (available through Sealed Events)
