Leica Celebrates 100 Years of Leica I with Exclusive BE@RBRICK x Royal Selangor Collaboration

Leica marks a century of photographic innovation with a striking new collectible: the Leica BE@RBRICK ROYAL SELANGOR 400%, unveiled in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Leica I—the world’s first mass-produced 35mm camera introduced in 1925.

Launched in conjunction with the grand reopening of the Leica Store at ION Orchard, this limited-edition BE@RBRICK is more than just a collector’s item—it’s a sculptural tribute to Leica’s legacy, crafted in pewter by Malaysia’s Royal Selangor, in collaboration with MEDICOM TOY, the creators of the iconic BE@RBRICK platform.

A Triple-Brand Tribute to Craftsmanship and Culture

This rare collaboration unites three powerhouses of precision and design: Leica, for its century-spanning impact on photography; BE@RBRICK, a global street culture icon; and Royal Selangor, renowned for their fine pewter artistry. The result is a piece that speaks to camera enthusiasts, art collectors, and streetwear connoisseurs alike.

The collectible takes inspiration from the Ur-Leica prototype built by Oskar Barnack in 1914. From its pewter “lens” centerpiece to the bronze lens cap motif and shutter speed markings etched into its leg, every detail reflects Leica’s design heritage. The back of the figure features the E. Leitz Wetzlar logo, a nod to the birthplace of the original Leica.

Intentional wear marks—softened corners, distressed edges, and textured surfaces—capture the timeless patina of a well-travelled Leica camera, while sculptural details like the Leica ZM 1 watch on the wrist and a commemorative plaque at the waist subtly trace Leica’s historical journey.

Launch Details & Global Availability

The Leica BE@RBRICK ROYAL SELANGOR 400% will debut on 6 June 2025 at the newly refurbished Leica Store ION Orchard, with official sales beginning 7 June 2025 in-store and online via Leica Singapore. A wider release by Royal Selangor and MEDICOM TOY follows on 24 July 2025.

The collectible will retail at S$2,950 (inclusive of GST)—a premium piece that merges the nostalgia of photographic history with the bold energy of collectible culture.
