TikTok is deepening its commitment to digital well-being with new features and funding to support mental health across its global community. As part of its latest initiative, the platform is rolling out in-app guided meditation tools for all users and expanding its Mental Health Education Fund with a new $2.3 million donation.
Following the success of a feature trial aimed at encouraging teens to wind down at night—with 98% keeping the meditation feature activated—TikTok will now introduce guided meditation exercises during Sleep Hours for all users, regardless of age.
For teens under 18, the feature will be turned on by default. If they’re using the app past 10pm, their For You feed will be gently paused with a meditation prompt to help them relax. Continued use will trigger a second, full-screen prompt that’s harder to dismiss. Adults can choose to enable Sleep Hours anytime via their Screen Time settings.
With research showing that mindfulness practices can significantly improve sleep quality, this new feature aims to support users’ overall well-being in a gentle, non-intrusive way.
TikTok is also expanding its Mental Health Media Education Fund by donating $2.3 million in ad credits to 31 mental health organisations across 22 countries. This support will help these groups produce credible, engaging content and reach wider audiences.
In Singapore, the non-profit organisation Limitless (@limitless.sg)—which offers mental health support to youths—will benefit from the initiative. In addition to financial support, TikTok will also provide training to help organisations maximise their content’s reach and impact.
Since launching the Fund in 2023, TikTok has contributed $7.3 million to support mental health organisations, helping them garner over 173 million content impressions, attract 600,000 new followers, generate 200,000 website visits, and recruit nearly 500 new volunteers.
From mental health advocacy and charitable drives to STEM learning and AMBER alerts, TikTok continues to leverage its global platform for good. By combining engaging content with impactful partnerships, the platform reaffirms its role as a community-driven space for support, awareness, and well-being.
