ITA Airways is set to soar higher as it officially begins its integration into Star Alliance, following approval from the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board (CEB). Building on its earlier induction into the Lufthansa Group, Italy’s national carrier is now on course to join the world’s largest airline alliance, with full membership expected by early 2026.
Once onboarded, ITA Airways will contribute 360 daily flights, strengthening Star Alliance’s European footprint. Key hubs like Rome and Milan—already served by 16 Star Alliance members—will see expanded connectivity, offering passengers even greater travel flexibility.
Guided by Lufthansa Group, which has long been a part of Star Alliance, ITA Airways will navigate its integration process with the support of an experienced mentor. Upon completion, Star Alliance will boast 26 member airlines, operating over 18,000 daily flights across 192 countries—solidifying its position as the world’s leading airline network.
