Set to launch in June 2025, the initiative will provide twice-weekly nutritious meals to 6,000 seniors across 12 ageing towns over two years. The bank’s 14,000-strong workforce will also engage in monthly enrichment activities and quarterly grocery shopping trips to foster stronger social connections.

This initiative is part of DBS Bank’s commitment to commemorating Singapore’s 60th anniversary while addressing the evolving needs of the community. It follows a successful series of 38 pop-up markets held over the past seven months, where 30,000 lower-income households received essential groceries and financial literacy guidance.

A Holistic Approach to Well-Being

Recognizing the deep connection between social isolation and poor nutrition, DBS Foundation is working with community partners to create a structured engagement programme. The initiative will offer:

  • Twice-weekly nutritious meals with guidance on making healthier food choices.
  • Monthly social activities such as games, cook-offs, and workshops on financial literacy, digital skills, and mental wellness.
  • Quarterly supermarket trips where seniors can purchase SGD 60 worth of groceries and essentials.

With the support of more than 2,000 DBS employee volunteers, DBS Foundation has held 38 community pop-up markets across the island over the past seven months, benefitting 30,000 lower-income households.

This latest effort builds on DBS Foundation’s ongoing initiatives to support ageing societies and ensure that all individuals, regardless of background, can age with dignity and fulfillment. Last September, the foundation also launched the Impact Beyond series, fostering collaboration among impact-driven organizations to drive meaningful change.

Through this comprehensive support system, DBS Foundation is reinforcing its mission to create a more inclusive and resilient community for Singapore’s seniors.
