Singapore Press Club Awards 2025 Expands with New Categories and Standalone Event; Nominations Now Open

The Singapore Press Club Awards returns bigger than ever in 2025, marking its fourth edition with an expanded lineup of accolades and a standalone event. Moving away from its previous association with the Press Ball, this milestone reinforces the Awards’ commitment to recognizing outstanding journalists and media professionals shaping Singapore’s vibrant media industry.

With Citi as the overall presenting sponsor, the 2025 edition welcomes new category sponsors: City Developments Limited (CDL) for the Sustainability Journalism Award, Telum Media for the Rising Stars Young PR Professional Award, and Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) as the prize sponsor. The Awards will also introduce three new categories:

  • Finance Journalism Award, sponsored by CLA Global TS
  • Health Journalism Award, sponsored by Abbott
  • Tech Journalism Award, sponsored by IBM

Celebrating Emerging Talent: The Rising Stars Awards

The Rising Stars Awards spotlight young journalists and media professionals (under 35 as of December 31, 2024), with three distinct categories:

  • Young Journalist Award – Recognizing exceptional reporting talent in both mainstream and digital media.
  • Young Digital Journalist Award – Honoring excellence in digital storytelling and visual journalism.
  • Young PR Professional Award (Telum Media) – Acknowledging media relations expertise in public relations.

Recognizing Excellence in Journalism

Beyond celebrating young talents, the Awards honor journalists making an impact across key sectors:

  • Sustainability Journalism Award (CDL) – Recognizing impactful reporting on environmental and sustainability issues aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Finance Journalism Award (CLA Global TS) – Highlighting excellence in financial reporting, from breaking news to in-depth analysis.
  • Health Journalism Award (Abbott) – Honoring journalists translating complex health issues and innovations into essential public knowledge.
  • Tech Journalism Award (IBM) – Rewarding journalists who bring clarity to the ever-evolving tech landscape.

Prestigious Hall of Fame Inductions

The Hall of Fame pays tribute to media veterans aged 65 and above (with at least 25 years in the industry) for their lasting contributions to journalism, media leadership, PR, marketing, or academia. Posthumous inductions are also considered.

Winners will receive a trophy and a 2-night stay worth $1,000 at a Millennium Hotels and Resorts property of their choice, including Orchard Hotel Singapore, Grand Copthorne Waterfront, M Social Singapore, Studio M, Copthorne King’s Hotel, and M Hotel Singapore.
