Income Eco Run 2025: Bigger, Greener, and Aiming to Double Impact for a Zero-Waste Future

Get ready to go the extra mile for sustainability! Income Eco Run 2025 (IER 2025) returns on Sunday, 8 June, at Marina Barrage, marking Income Insurance’s 55th anniversary with its biggest edition yet. With the theme “How Far Will You Go for Zero Waste?”, this flagship event champions eco-conscious living by encouraging sustainable lifestyle practices.

This carbon-neutral run is set to be Singapore’s most impactful yet, with a 50% increase in sign-ups expected. Participants can choose from five run distances—3km, 5km, 10km, 15km, or 21.1km—while kids (ages 4 to 12) can join the 700m or 1km category. The scenic route will take runners past iconic landmarks like Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore Flyer, starting and ending at Marina Barrage.

Income Insurance will match S$1 for every kilometre clocked, aiming to double last year’s funds raised in support of green initiatives.

Commemorative Initiatives for Income 55

  • 1,000 Complimentary Slots for Seniors (55 & Above) – To celebrate Income Insurance’s 55th anniversary, the first 1,000 individuals aged 55 and above were invited to participate for free. These slots were quickly snapped up, reinforcing the company’s commitment to active aging and sustainability.
  • 55km Eco-Ultra Marathon (By Invitation Only) – Endurance meets eco-consciousness with this special challenge, where ultra-runners showcase zero-waste running habits, from responsible consumption to mindful resourcefulness.

New 1km Pets Category

For the first time, pet owners can walk 1km with their furry friends from Marina Barrage to Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Dome. This category highlights the environmental impact of pet ownership, promoting eco-friendly pet products and habits.

Eco-Friendly Practices Continue

  • Plastic-Free Hydration Stations – For the third consecutive year, the event will use compostable cups at all hydration points, saving approximately 73,000 cups from landfills.
  • Sustainable Event Tees – Made from 100% recycled materials and available only as an opt-in purchase, reducing unnecessary production.
  • Minimalist Race Bibs & Digital Finisher Certificates65% smaller bibs and e-certificates instead of medals for adult participants to cut down waste.
  • Composting Banana Peels – Last year, 66kg of banana peels were composted, and more than 60% of recyclables were properly processed.
  • Seed Paper Bibs for Kids – Young participants receive plantable bibs, allowing them to grow herbs and vegetables post-race.
  • Recycled Plastic Finisher Medals (Kids Category) – Made from recycled plastic bottle caps in collaboration with Plastify, doubling as a coaster.

IER Eco Festival & Eco Village

Beyond race day, the event expands into a two-day IER Eco Festival (31 May – 1 June, Guoco Tower), featuring:

  • Eco-friendly activities and sustainability-focused booths
  • Pet-friendly venue with green initiatives for pets
  • E-waste and plastic recycling stations at the IER Eco Village on race day

To further offset its carbon footprint, Income Insurance will neutralize emissions from IER tee production and participant commutes.
