Vietjet Air is set to bridge Vietnam and New Zealand, announcing its inaugural direct flight route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Auckland. The milestone event was attended by Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, alongside key officials and business leaders from both nations.
Scheduled to launch in September 2025, this four-times-weekly service marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties, aligning with the elevation of Vietnam-New Zealand relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the upcoming celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations.
Beyond enhancing trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, Vietjet’s latest offering provides affordable and flexible travel options, with seat classes ranging from Business and SkyBoss to Deluxe and Eco. Passengers can also indulge in a curated selection of Vietnamese and international cuisine, all served by Vietjet’s renowned hospitality team.
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s economic and cultural hub, offers travelers vibrant city life and seamless access to the country’s top destinations. Meanwhile, Auckland, celebrated for its coastal beauty and world-famous attractions, serves as a gateway to New Zealand’s breathtaking landscapes and adventure-filled experiences.
This new route is part of Vietjet’s broader expansion strategy, reinforcing its growing footprint across Asia-Pacific, with connections to Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China, South Korea, India, Kazakhstan, and more.
