Stepping Into Adventure with New Skechers Sport Adventure Collection: A Healing Journey in Hue, Vietnam

If there was ever a trip that seamlessly combined adventure, wellness, and style, it was this one for me. Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to embark on a rejuvenating journey with Skechers to Hue, Vietnam, with a group of Skechers KOLs from the region, including Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore.

There were seven of us representing Singapore: Nicholas (@njltheawesome), Jimena (@jimenamuchsel), Natasha (@nxtasha.ann), Jamie (@jamiepang), Johnson (@johnsonlau) and Brandon (@brandstands) who are all my new-found fitpos friends.

The trip was organised to celebrate the introduction of the new Skechers Sport Adventure Collection, including the newly launched Skechers D’Lites Hiker, providing the perfect chance to experience the shoes in action.

A Much-Needed Wellness Reset

I have to admit, I have been letting go a far bit post-Covid when it comes to fitness and wellness. This trip was a welcome reminder and exactly what I needed to restart my health journey.

Accompanied by a group of fit and inspiring Singaporean KOLs, as well as teams from Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand, I was surrounded by individuals who live and breathe an active lifestyle. Their energy was contagious, making the experience all the more rewarding, motivating me to pick back on a healthy lifestyle again.

In fact, I am happy to share that I lost a bit of weight since I got back and I am extremely motivated to keep it going till I get back to my ideal weight and fitness level again. What I learned from observing and chatting with all the fitpos is that it all boils down to discipline – having the discipline to hit the gym regularly, go for regular jogs or other exercise sessions and also to keep a healthy, clean diet on most days. There is no magic formula or cheat code, you just have to integrate health and wellness routines into your daily lifestyle and enjoy the process. Only then would it be sustainable.

Exploring the Beauty of Hue

The itinerary planned by the Skechers team was packed with activities that put both our endurance and Skechers gear to the test.

We kicked things off with a hike through the breathtaking trails of Bach Ma National Park, navigating through dense forests and rocky paths to reach the serene Five Lakes Cascades and Rhododendron Waterfall.

It was raining for most of the morning when we embarked on our hike, but the wetness did not hamper our spirit. It helps that the Skechers apparel we were wearing was weather-resistant and provided us with the necessary comfort and protection.

I got my trusty pair of Skechers D’Lux Journey shoes wet when we had to hike through the waters, but it was all good. The shoes provided me with excellent traction and comfort, ensuring every step felt stable and supported, even when they were soaking wet.

I got the same feedback for the D’Lites Hiker shoes, which all the others in the Singapore team were wearing, as modelled by Nicholas and Johnson above in two different colours from the Men’s version, Light Grey and Natural.

The hike was not strenuous physically, but it was technical due to the uneven and steep terrain, which requires a fair bit of coordination and good gripe with your footwear, which our trusty Skechers shoes more than delivered.

Adventure, Relaxation, and Connection

Beyond hiking, the trip had a perfect balance of wellness and relaxation which I really enjoyed.

We stayed at the Alba Wellness Valley by Fusion throughout our time at Hue. The wellness resort is a tranquil retreat that blends natural beauty with holistic wellness. Surrounded by lush greenery, hot mineral springs, and the gentle Truong Son mountain range, we got to indulge in a variety of wellness activities, including yoga, meditation, and therapeutic spa treatments.

I participated in one of the calming yoga sessions and found it to be relaxing. I also went to the gym to work out a little. The resort stay comes inclusive of a spa and massage session as well as daily onsen. These were perfect for relaxation in the evening, winding down after a day of workouts and exercises.

The food is pretty good and healthy too, featuring both local and international fares, as well as a slew of fresh juices and other healthy drinks.

In the evenings, we dined under the stars with a BBQ dinner on the last night, swapping stories and soaking in the peaceful surroundings of the retreat.
