The All-New D’Marquee at Downtown East: Bigger, Bolder, and Ready to Impress

After a year of construction, NTUC Club has unveiled the revamped D’Marquee at Downtown East, redefining its legacy as a premier events venue. Originally opened in 2003, the former dome-shaped D’Marquee hosted over 3,000 events, becoming a cherished destination for everything from family-friendly productions like The Powerpuff Girls’ Big Day to landmark gatherings like the May Day Rally. Now, with a bold new identity and enhanced features, D’Marquee 2.0 is set to elevate Singapore’s events landscape.

Reimagined Design for Modern Events

The new D’Marquee, designed by the award-winning Freight Architects LLP, boasts a striking industrial-inspired corrugated steel facade that mirrors the aesthetic of shipping containers. The refreshed 2,400-square-meter pillar-less interior—equivalent to six basketball courts—features a soaring 8-meter ceiling and a 40% increase in floor capacity, allowing it to host up to 2,200 guests in theatre-style seating or 132 banquet tables.

Beyond its scale, D’Marquee’s state-of-the-art features make it a versatile hub for concerts, corporate events, weddings, and more. Collaboration with technical production firm ExpoAV ensures superior event production, with high-definition audio, soundproofed interiors, echo-absorbing ceilings, and cinematic LED lighting creating an immersive experience.

Enhanced Facilities for Seamless Experiences

New back-of-house facilities include a VIP lounge with an ensuite bathroom, changing rooms, a nursing room, accessible restrooms, and expanded storage spaces. The venue also accommodates arena-style concerts for up to 2,278 attendees, representing a 60% increase in capacity, making it a perfect fit for large-scale events.

Adaptable, Eco-Friendly, and Future-Ready

D’Marquee 2.0 is tailored for the evolving MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) landscape, offering flexible solutions for hybrid events that bridge in-person and virtual connections. It also aligns with growing demand for eco-conscious event solutions.

In April, the venue will integrate solar panels on its roof, supporting NTUC Club’s “Go-Green” initiatives and contributing to Singapore’s renewable energy goals. This marks the third green roof project at Downtown East, reinforcing NTUC Club’s commitment to sustainability.

Strategic Platform for UPlay

D’Marquee also serves as the flagship venue for UPlay, NTUC Club’s corporate concierge service. Through UPlay, companies can easily plan bespoke events or select curated team-building and lifestyle experiences designed to foster engagement and connection among employees.

Experience the magic at the all-new D’Marquee, where bold innovation meets timeless memories.
