This Christmas, Be a Hero for Migrant Workers in Singapore

While Singapore’s skyline gleams with progress, the invisible workforce behind its infrastructure, domestic care, and services often faces harsh realities. Over 1.1 million low-wage migrant workers, nearly 20% of the population, contribute tirelessly to the nation’s growth. Yet, many endure wage theft, unsafe working conditions, and denial of medical care after injuries.

In 2023 alone, salary-related cases surged by 55%, according to the MOM Employment Standards Report. Many workers, despite being covered under the Work Injury Compensation Act, are forcibly repatriated with untreated injuries, leaving them unable to provide for their families back home.

For over 21 years, Transient Workers Count Too (TWC2) has championed the rights of Singapore’s migrant workers, providing vital support and advocating for systemic change. This Christmas, TWC2 is launching a campaign to raise SGD 200,000, ensuring these workers receive the care and justice they deserve.

Why It Matters

These workers, hailing from countries like Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, and the Philippines, often earn as little as $400–500 a month. Many arrive with hopes of sending their children to school or affording festive meals for their families. But too often, those dreams are shattered by exploitation and neglect.

How You Can Help

Funds raised will directly support essential services such as:

  • Emergency shelter and meals for workers facing sudden displacement.
  • Medical aid for injured workers denied treatment.
  • Legal assistance to reclaim unpaid wages and compensation.
  • Advocacy programs to shine a light on their struggles and push for systemic change.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

Your contribution can help provide these workers with immediate relief and long-term support, giving them a sense of dignity and hope during the festive season.

Donate today and be a part of this meaningful initiative. Let’s ensure no worker feels forgotten this Christmas.
