The Marina Bay Singapore Countdown, presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), is back for its 20th edition, promising a spectacular lineup of events to ring in 2025. This year’s celebration is part of the ONE Countdown, a series of islandwide festivities marking Singapore’s 60th birthday (SG60).
From dazzling light shows to live performances and breathtaking fireworks, Marina Bay will transform into a hub of activity, creating unforgettable memories for all.
Kicking off the celebrations is illumi, one of the world’s largest light and multimedia shows, making its Singapore debut. This immersive outdoor journey features nine uniquely themed worlds, each with captivating light displays and installations. On New Year’s Eve, visitors can enjoy a special illuminated experience, picnicking under the stars amidst a radiant backdrop as they await the countdown.
Returning to The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, the Brightening Lives light projections feature inspiring artworks by artists with disabilities, curated in collaboration with ART:DIS and The Majurity Trust.
From December 26 to 31, eight artworks will light up the hotel’s facade, including three newly commissioned pieces exploring themes like teamwork, mental health, and diversity. Highlights include:
These powerful artworks reflect the SG60 spirit of inclusivity and perseverance, with projections running nightly from 8 PM to 10:30 PM, extended to 10:45 PM on New Year’s Eve.
Throughout December, the Come Together series at Esplanade presents free performances by homegrown artists like The Midnight Suns, Pure Fantasy, and Roseville Deluxe. Music lovers can enjoy live shows at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre and Esplanade Concourse, adding to the festive cheer.
On December 31, Marina Bay’s skies will ignite with an extraordinary 30-minute fireworks display designed by the creators of STAR ISLAND. Beginning at 11 PM, the show unfolds in four chapters, culminating in a midnight finale bursting with colors and choreographed brilliance.
To ensure safety and smooth crowd management, Marina Bay will regulate access to key areas on New Year’s Eve. Visitors are encouraged to use public transport, follow on-ground instructions, and check the Crowd@MarinaBay map for real-time updates on crowd levels.
