Leica Camera AG has introduced an elegant new chapter in its iconic M series with the release of the Leica M11 and Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH., both now available in a stunning glossy black finish. These exclusive designs celebrate the brand’s legacy of timeless aesthetics and meticulous craftsmanship, a hallmark of Leica since its inception.
The Leica M-System, synonymous with the brand’s identity, has been a pioneer in photography since the launch of the revolutionary Leica M3 in 1954. The glossy black finish, first seen in 1962 with the Leica M3, has become a symbol of understated elegance. Over time, the finish develops a unique patina as the brass beneath subtly reveals itself, creating a personalized look that tells the story of the user’s photographic journey.
The new Leica M11 combines state-of-the-art technology with a nod to its heritage. Its brass top plate, dials, and on/off switch are adorned in glossy black, while details like the seamless engraved “Leica” script and silver chrome shutter button pay homage to historic M-Cameras. The design eschews the signature red Leica dot, further enhancing its refined subtlety.
Accompanying the M11 is the Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH., now available in glossy black to perfectly complement the camera. Known for its exceptional image quality, light intensity, and creamy bokeh, this lens is an icon in its own right. The glossy black variant includes a matching round lens hood and lens caps, alongside a red “feet” scale, completing the luxurious package.
Leica has also expanded its accessory lineup with a new taupe color option for three premium M accessories: the adjustable carrying strap, the M11 protector, and the M-System case, crafted from high-quality cowhide leather.
The Leica M11 glossy black is priced at S$13,700, while the Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH. glossy black is available for S$12,100. Both models are now available at Leica stores, the Leica Online Store, and authorized retailers worldwide.
