Hyatt Hotels Corporation has officially opened Alila Shanghai, bringing a serene urban retreat to the bustling heart of Jing’an. The luxury hotel offers guests exclusive access to Zhangyuan, a restored complex of shikumen townhouses now home to high-end retail experiences.
Designed by renowned interior designer Ju Bin, Alila Shanghai blends traditional Shanghai style with modern, nature-inspired elegance. Natural materials like stone, rattan, and timber are paired with lush greenery to create a peaceful retreat in the city.
Guests are welcomed by a tranquil driveway lined with trees and a serene resort-style entrance. The lobby floor, inspired by classical Shanghai gardens, features a peaceful lake and a stunning 17-foot ‘Gathering’ tree art installation by local artist Oscar Wang.
At Spa Alila, guests can enjoy holistic treatments inspired by nature, along with a Turkish bath and yoga room. The hotel also offers unique cultural experiences, collaborating with local artisans to showcase Shanghai’s heritage.
Alila Shanghai’s 186 guest rooms, including 94 suites, feature Shanghai-inspired design touches and modern comforts. The Penthouse Suite, located on the 37th floor, boasts panoramic city views and a luxurious marble-lined bathroom.
Led by Executive Chef Chuck Xing, Alila’s four bars and restaurants focus on wellness-oriented, farm-to-table cuisine. Signature dining experiences include the 500 Weihai Road restaurant, offering modern Shanghainese dishes, and Secret Roof, a rooftop bar with stunning views of Zhangyuan.
With over 3,000 square feet of event space, Alila Shanghai offers versatile venues for intimate meetings and grand celebrations, including an open-air terrace and elegant function rooms with natural light.
Alila Shanghai invites guests to experience a calming oasis in the heart of one of the world’s most vibrant cities.
