Hennessy has announced an exciting new collaboration with renowned French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, celebrated for his striking hand-blown glass sculptures. This partnership brings together the worlds of fine art and luxury spirits, resulting in two exceptional creations: the Hennessy X.O Masterpiece and the Hennessy X.O Limited Edition.
Hennessy is no stranger to artistic collaborations, having worked with iconic figures like Tom Dixon, Frank Gehry, and Kim Jones. With this latest project, Hennessy continues its tradition of blending art with craftsmanship, showcasing Othoniel’s fascination with light, reflection, and intricate design.
The centerpiece of the collaboration is the Hennessy X.O Masterpiece, a stunning Baccarat crystal decanter adorned with multi-faceted surfaces that capture and reflect light. Enclosed in hand-carved oak reminiscent of Hennessy’s barrels, it is a true work of art. Inspired by this creation, the Hennessy X.O Limited Edition presents a vibrant red decanter encased in a golden metal structure with a unique opening feature for refills, aligned with Hennessy’s commitment to sustainability.
This exclusive version of the iconic Hennessy X.O features a golden, hammered-facet casing with a matching cap. At its heart is a striking red dome, resembling a precious gem, while Othoniel’s signature replaces the traditional Hennessy logo on the bottle’s neck. The Limited Edition comes in a recyclable, sustainably packaged gift box, making it an ideal collectible. Its second skin is also reusable with other Hennessy X.O decanters, enhancing its eco-friendly appeal.
Hennessy X.O is known for its rich tasting profile, offering drinkers a journey through seven tasting worlds. It opens with sweet candied fruit, followed by a warm, spicy edge, then transitions to chocolate sweetness, oak, and vanilla for a bold, lingering finish.
In Singapore, only 300 bottles of the Hennessy X.O Limited Edition will be available from September 2, 2024, at select locations including Cold Storage, MBS, Tanglin Mall, Takashimaya, and Paragon.
