SUNSET BOULEVARD tells a poignant story of faded Hollywood glory and unfulfilled ambition. The narrative follows Norma Desmond, a former silent film star yearning for a comeback in the era of “talkies.” Her chance meeting with struggling screenwriter Joe Gillis leads to a dramatic and tragic conclusion.

Featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and a book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, this new production is based on the classic film directed by Billy Wilder. Directed by Paul Warwick Griffin, with set and costume design by Morgan Large, choreography by Ashley Wallen, and musical supervision by Kristen Blodgette, this production premiered at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre on 29 May 2024.
