In the wake of Typhoon Yagi and the devastating floods that have struck northern Vietnam, Vietjet is stepping up to provide urgent relief to affected communities. On September 10, the airline’s management called on its 8,000 employees to join in solidarity, donating funds and resources to support those impacted by the natural disasters.
Vietjet is further contributing to recovery efforts by pledging VND5,000 (approximately US$0.20) from every ticket sold until September 30. This initiative aims to raise around VND5 billion (US$202,900) to assist with relief. In addition, the airline has already allocated VND2 billion (US$81,140) to supply essential goods such as food, clean water, and medicine to the hardest-hit regions.
Demonstrating its commitment to humanitarian aid, Vietjet is also offering free transportation for relief goods from both domestic and international donors until September 20, ensuring much-needed supplies reach the affected areas.
The airline’s employees remain dedicated to helping those who have lost their homes and loved ones, reflecting the Vietnamese spirit of mutual support, captured by the saying “The intact leaves protect the tattered ones.”
