OPPO Singapore “Friends of Singapore” Campaign: Calling Singaporeans to Show More Love to Their Furry Friends

OPPO Singapore has launched the “Friends of Singapore” campaign, a heartwarming initiative that shines a spotlight on the nation’s diverse and inclusive community—extending to our beloved animal companions.

With the Housing and Development Board’s (HDB) upcoming regulation allowing residents to own up to two cats starting this September, OPPO’s campaign couldn’t be more timely. Teaming up with local photographers, students from LASALLE College of the Arts, and animal welfare groups like PurelyAdoptions and the Cat Welfare Society (CWS), OPPO is working to support Singapore’s vision of an animal-friendly society.

This campaign is a testament to OPPO’s commitment to “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World.” By harnessing cutting-edge technology, OPPO aims to promote social good and foster stronger emotional bonds between pets and their owners. Through advanced photography technology, OPPO captures the essence of stray animals in their best light, using AI tools to create engaging interactions between humans and animals. The goal? To foster deeper connections and love between Singaporeans and their furry friends.

National Day with “Friends of Singapore”

For many Singaporeans, pets are family. OPPO understands this and has invited 12 families—including founders of PurelyAdoptions, the President of Cat Welfare Society, volunteers, caregivers, and adopters—to share their heartwarming stories. These stories highlight the importance of forming deep emotional connections with pets, not just meeting their basic needs. The campaign also addresses the challenges faced by community cats and Singapore Specials, emphasizing the need for responsible pet ownership and reducing the issue of abandoned animals.

Enhancing Pet Adoption with AI Technology

In addition, OPPO Singapore has created custom stickers using its AI Smart Image Matting feature. These stickers, available with online purchases, are designed to make stray animals stand out, encouraging more people to consider adoption.

With this campaign, OPPO hopes to garner the affection and attention that Singapore’s stray animals truly deserve.
