AirAsia X Marks a New Destination on the Map

The world has just gotten a little smaller with AirAsia X’s announcement of its newest destination – Nairobi, Kenya. This milestone marks the low-cost carrier’s first on the African continent, known for its rich history, culture and wildlife. With a flight time of approximately 9 hours from Kuala Lumpur’s KLIA to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, this exciting new spot opens up many thrilling possibilities such as wildlife safaris that bring you up close to the BIG 5 – lions, leopards, African buffalos, elephants, and rhinoceros in their natural environment, and experiencing a few days in a Maasai tribal village.

If the excitement is already building to fever pitch and the travel ideas buzzing around, mark your calendars for the 15 November 2024, when the inaugural flight is scheduled to take to the skies. There will be 4 weekly flights with Airbus A330-300 aircraft with the following air routes:

D7101 KUL1900 – 2300NBO 333 x246
D7102 NBO0030 – 1510KUL 333 x357

This 2-way leg is primed to open up a crucial link between Kenya and 130 destinations across Southeast Asia, Northern and Central Asia, and Australia, as well as provide a gateway into the rest of the vast continent. To facilitate as seamless a connection as possible, AirAsia X offers Fly-Thru connection, a service that conveniently connects your flights from one AirAsia flight to another without the hassle of collecting your bags at the transit hub, even between international and domestic destinations.

Singapore based adventurers can look forard to promotional all-in-one-way* fare from SGD 332 Singapore to Nairobi via a Fly-Thru in Kuala Lumpur, while competing fares on other carriers average around SGD 900. This promotion is exclusively available for booking on the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly known as the airasia Superapp) from now until 7 July 2024 for the travel period between 15 November 2024 and 8 October 2025. January, February and July to October are the best times to travel to Kenya as it is the dry season – hot and cool respectively, so why not put Kenya on your travel to-do list and discover Kenya – the pride of Africa.

*All-in fares start from SGD332 inclusive of fuel surcharge, relevant taxes and fees. Other terms and conditions apply.
