18th National Day Sing-Along by Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations and Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre Celebrates Singapore’s Unity

The Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) and Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) successfully concluded the 18th National Day Sing-Along at Toa Payoh HDB Hub Mall Square this evening. The event, a heartwarming celebration of Singapore’s unity and spirit, drew close to 2,000 attendees dressed in red and white, symbolizing their love for the nation.

A Night of Song and Celebration

Graced by Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance, the event brought the community together through song and shared memories. The festivities were also live-streamed on SFCCA and SCCC’s Facebook pages, allowing a wider audience to join in the celebration.

Themes of Reunion, Dreams, and Fulfilment

This year’s Sing-Along revolved around the sub-themes of Reunion, Dreams, and Fulfilment. Homegrown artistes Yokez, Yohannis Kasmani, Elton Lee, and Leon Lim led the crowd in singing beloved National Day songs, including “One United People” and “Reach Out For The Skies.”

Three special video features, shown at the beginning of each segment, added a unique touch to the event. These videos highlighted various profiles, including past National Day Parade performers and representatives from SFCCA, who shared their personal interpretations of reunion, dreams, and fulfilment.

Special Performances

Adding to the festive atmosphere, NUS Resonance, an a cappella group from the National University of Singapore, captivated the audience with renditions of popular local tunes. Their performances included “Ru Yan” (如燕), the theme song from The Little Nyonya, a medley of “What Do You See” and “The Road Ahead,” and the classic “Singapore Town.” These heartfelt performances extended warm birthday greetings to Singapore.

The event was masterfully hosted by Mediacorp personalities Chua Leelian and Zhong Kun Hua, who kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout the evening.

A Celebration of National Pride

The 18th National Day Sing-Along was not just a musical event but a celebration of Singapore’s national pride, bringing together people from all walks of life to express their love and hopes for the country. It was a night filled with music, memories, and the collective spirit of Singaporeans, united in their celebration of the nation’s progress and future.
