La Tour d’Argent to Host Gastronomic Week at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi

To mark its Diamond Jubilee, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is set to welcome the historic Parisian dining establishment, La Tour d’Argent, for an exclusive five-day culinary takeover at its acclaimed French restaurant, Le Beaulieu. This event, scheduled from October 23 to 27, 2024, will bring the legendary French cuisine of La Tour d’Argent to Hanoi for the first time in history.

A Historic Collaboration

La Tour d’Argent, a pillar of French gastronomic heritage since 1582, will partner with Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi to offer an unparalleled dining experience. Helmed by Executive Chef Yannick Franques, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2004, La Tour d’Argent boasts a Michelin star for its blend of classic and contemporary French cuisine. The restaurant’s extraordinary wine cellar, with over 300,000 of the finest vintages, will also contribute to this unique event.

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, Southeast Asia’s first and only Sofitel Legend hotel, epitomizes fine French hospitality in Vietnam’s capital. The hotel’s Chef de Cuisine, Charles Degrendele, trained at La Tour d’Argent, underscoring the cultural connections between these two iconic establishments.

An Immersive Culinary Experience

During the five-day event, guests will be treated to the timeless elegance and excellence of La Tour d’Argent’s cuisine. The collaboration, initiated by André Terrail, the current owner of La Tour d’Argent, aims to recreate the art of entertaining at one of the world’s most renowned restaurants within the historic setting of Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.

The expert culinary team will craft a five-course lunch menu and an eight-course dinner, featuring signature dishes such as “Caneton Frédéric Delair,” a tribute to Charlie Chaplin, who honeymooned at the hotel in 1936. This immersive experience will include the dramatic cutting of duck and the flambéing of Mademoiselle crêpes, transporting the French savoir-faire and gastronomic artistry nearly 10,000 kilometers from Paris to Hanoi.

Celebrating French Art de Vivre

This exclusive event reflects Sofitel’s commitment to fostering cultural exchanges and creating memorable experiences. By bringing La Tour d’Argent to Vietnam, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi continues to highlight its dedication to blending French sophistication with local heritage, offering guests a unique opportunity to enjoy world-class cuisine in a historic and refined setting.
