Universal Studios Singapore Announces Exciting Details for Illumination’s Minion Land, Opening in 2025

Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) has announced that Illumination’s Minion Land will open in 2025, offering guests in Southeast Asia an immersive experience inspired by the beloved Despicable Me and Minions franchise. This eagerly awaited addition will feature a variety of rides, including the popular Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and a new exclusive carousel, Buggie Boogie, which will delight visitors with dance music remixed by the Minions. The land will also offer themed retail and dining experiences.

Minion Land is the result of a collaboration between Universal Creative, the creative team behind Universal’s attractions, Illumination’s acclaimed filmmakers, and RWS, Asia’s top lifestyle destination resort. Guests will be able to explore three distinct areas within Minion Land: Minion Marketplace, Gru’s Neighbourhood, and Super Silly Fun Land.

Minion Marketplace

In Minion Marketplace, the Minions have transformed the area with colorful storefronts showcasing their creativity. This one-stop location offers a wide array of Minion-themed treats and merchandise, including:

• Sweet Surrender: Topped with a giant jawbreaker vending machine, this candy-themed store features a variety of Minion-themed apparel, plush toys, homeware, confections, and other fun souvenirs.
• Pop Store: Infusing Minions with modern design and street-art style, this store offers the latest fashion items with a Minion twist.
• Fun Store: A toy shop run by the beloved Minions, filled with accessories and toys galore.

Gru’s Neighbourhood

Adjacent to Minion Marketplace is Gru’s Neighbourhood, home to the former supervillain and his family—Lucy, Margo, Edith, and Agnes. Beneath their home is Gru’s Lab, where his loyal Minions are taking over the streets. Highlights include:

• Despicable Me Minion Mayhem: An immersive motion simulator ride that takes guests through Gru’s supervillain laboratory, transforming them into Minions for his latest scheme. The ride promises heartwarming and humorous family fun with Gru, the girls, and the mischievous Minions.

Super Silly Fun Land

Super Silly Fun Land, the seaside carnival from Despicable Me, is located across the street from Minion Marketplace and Gru’s Neighbourhood. This vibrant area features:

• Buggie Boogie: The first-ever Minion dance party-themed carousel, where guests can hop aboard space bugs and silly creatures while boogieing to popular songs remixed by the Minions, led by DJ Carl.
• Silly Swirly: A ride where guests can spin and soar through the sky, enjoying views of Super Silly Fun Land and the lagoon.
• Super Hungry Food Stand: An all-new restaurant unique to Universal Studios Singapore, offering a larger-than-life version of the waterfront snack stand from Despicable Me.
• Pop-A-Nana: A snack kiosk offering Minion-inspired popcorn flavors.
• Space Killer: A game booth modeled after the “Super Silly Space Killer” arcade game from Despicable Me, where guests can win prizes like Fluffy, Agnes’ plush unicorn.
• Ba-Na-Na CaBaNa!: A game where guests can earn rewards from the Minions by flipping bananas.

Minion Land promises even more surprises, including fun photo opportunities with the Minions, such as a courtyard fountain where the Minions are making mischief yet again.
