Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium Unveils New Downtown Route for 2024

Cycling enthusiasts can anticipate an exhilarating new route in Downtown Singapore as the Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium (TDF SG) returns for its third edition on November 9 and 10. This premier event, known for showcasing elite cycling talent, promises an exciting weekend with the introduction of the TDF SG Family Day, featuring games, entertainment, and culinary delights for spectators.

The Tour de France, renowned as the pinnacle of professional cycling, typically sees athletes endure a gruelling 3,500km race over three weeks. The Criterium format, however, is a shorter race on a closed circuit, designed to test the cyclists’ speed and agility. This year’s Singapore edition will feature top international riders from some of the world’s leading professional cycling teams.

Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board and Prudential Singapore, the event will also welcome new partners, including local bicycle-sharing firm Anywheel, EVA Air, travel goods company Thule, and ticketing partner Trip.com.

Prudential Singapore returns as the title sponsor and official wellness partner for the third consecutive year. Prudential has a history of supporting cycling events, including the Prudential RideLondon cycling festival in 2019, PRURide Indonesia in 2022, and PRURide Philippines in 2023.

As part of their sponsorship, Prudential will organize classes through the PRURide Seeker’s Society. This exclusive cycling club, established in 2022, aims to help individuals improve their cycling skills. Membership grants access to complimentary training sessions, including mobility and strength training, technical classes to enhance cycling competence and confidence, and virtual cycling classes. These sessions are conducted by coaches from UFIT Singapore and the Singapore Cycling Federation.

PRURide Seeker’s Society members will also have the opportunity to qualify for the PRURide Seeker’s Criterium, the only event for non-professional cyclists during the race weekend. Participants will compete on the same circuit as the professional Tour de France cyclists.

Registration for the PRURide Seeker’s Society is now open.

The 2023 Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium saw Jasper Philipsen clinch the title in a dramatic sprint finish, beating a stellar field that included two-time Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar and decorated sprinter Mark Cavendish, who recently broke Eddy Merckx’s record with his 35th career Tour de France stage win.

Details on ticketing and participating riders for the 2024 Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium will be announced soon.
