Vietjet Exclusively Links Three Taiwanese Cities to Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island with New Flights; Special Friday Ticket Promotions

Vietjet has launched its first-ever direct flights connecting Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island, with the Taiwanese cities of Taichung and Kaohsiung, becoming the sole airline to offer such routes. This move is part of Vietjet’s broader strategy to expand its global reach and enhance connectivity between Vietnam and Taiwan.

New Flight Routes and Schedules

The Phu Quoc-Taichung route commenced operations on June 13, offering three return flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Following this, the Phu Quoc-Kaohsiung service started on June 14, with four round trips weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Ticket promotion available every Friday.

Promotional Offers

To celebrate the launch, Vietjet is offering a special promotion every Friday until the end of the year. Passengers can book international flight tickets on the airline’s website or mobile app with fares starting from USD 0 (excluding taxes and fees). Additionally, all passengers flying with Vietjet receive free SkyCare travel insurance, which includes a range of benefits and 24/7 global medical and travel support services.

Expanding Connectivity

Vietjet now operates nine direct routes between Vietnam and Taiwan’s major cities. It is the only airline providing flights between Phu Quoc and Taiwan’s three largest cities: Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Taichung. This expansion is part of Vietjet’s efforts to support the recovery of transport and tourism across the Asia Pacific region.

To meet the growing demand, Vietjet has added 1.4 million seats to its domestic network and introduced several international routes this summer. Recent launches include flights from Hanoi to Sydney and Melbourne in Australia, and to Hiroshima in Japan. Additionally, a new route from Ho Chi Minh City to Xi’an, China, is set to begin on July 1, 2024.

Discover Phu Quoc

Phu Quoc, located off Vietnam’s southwest coast, is renowned for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and year-round mild climate. The island has become a popular tourist destination, especially for international travelers who benefit from Vietnam’s visa exemption scheme, allowing stays of up to 30 days.
