Sing! Men’s Chorus Celebrates 20 Years of Community and Harmony with Special Launch Party

Sing! Men’s Chorus (SMC) is thrilled to announce its 20th-anniversary celebration, kicking off with a special launch party on May 30th, 2024. This milestone event will highlight the choir’s achievements and offer a live preview of their upcoming anniversary concert scheduled for September.

Founded in 2005, SMC was established to provide an opportunity for individuals interested in singing in an all-male choir and to introduce a unique form of choral music to the public. Over the past two decades, the choir has grown to nearly 60 alumni members and averages over twenty active members each season.

Anniversary Concert to Feature Timeless Favorites and New Premieres

The 20th-anniversary concert, titled “SMC Celebrates 20 Years of Timeless Harmony,” will feature iconic pieces from the choir’s extensive repertoire alongside exciting new additions. The concert promises to be a moving celebration of SMC’s dedication to authentic music-making, coupled with its distinctive brand of quirky entertainment that has captivated audiences over the years.

A Legacy of Inclusivity and Community Building

For twenty years, SMC has provided a safe and welcoming space for men of all backgrounds to express themselves through song. The choir’s commitment to inclusivity and fellowship has fostered a strong sense of community, enriching the lives of its members. SMC is dedicated to supporting and uplifting communities through its special brand of entertainment, collaborating with organizations such as The People’s Association, The Greenhouse, and Pink Dot. Additionally, SMC has represented Singapore at the biennial Hand in Hand Festival, an Asian-based choral festival organized by Proud Voices Asia. The choir continues to support the local community in all its diversity and aims to carry on its legacy of joyful song for many years to come.

In a time when acceptance, belonging, and a sense of family are crucial for positive mental wellness, especially among men, SMC’s mission is more relevant than ever.
