The Mandai Wildlife Reserve, already renowned for housing Singapore’s cherished wildlife parks like Bird Paradise, Night Safari, River Wonders, and Singapore Zoo, is set to expand its offerings with a host of new experiences inspired by nature and wildlife.
Later this year, visitors can look forward to the inauguration of a freely accessible boardwalk along the Upper Seletar Reservoir, offering breathtaking views of the serene landscape. Following this, the highly anticipated Mandai Rainforest Resort, operated by Banyan Tree, is slated to open in the first half of 2025. Adding to the excitement, Singapore will welcome its fifth wildlife park, Rainforest Wild, providing immersive experiences reminiscent of the rainforests of Southeast Asia and Africa.
Within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, visitors can explore indoor attractions like Exploria and Curiosity Cove, offering a range of nature-based edutainment activities. These attractions, conveniently located outside Singapore Zoo, will also house Green Canvas—a meeting and conferencing facility—and the Mandai Gallery, which narrates the history of Singapore’s zoological parks. Additionally, Singapore’s only ZooSchool will offer zoo-based adventure programs specially curated for young children.
Nestled amid lush greenery and overlooking the Upper Seletar Reservoir, Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree offers a truly immersive experience. With 338 rooms, including family rooms and unique treehouses, the resort blends seamlessly with the surrounding forest landscape. Guests can enjoy sustainably sourced cuisine, spa experiences, and holistic treatments at the Wellness Centre. Notably, the resort stands as Singapore’s first-ever Super Low Energy (SLE) resort, featuring innovative energy-saving technologies.
Spanning 12.6 hectares, Rainforest Wild Asia promises exhilarating adventures amidst its diverse landscapes. From leisurely strolls along wheelchair-friendly boardwalks to thrilling expeditions involving climbing, jumping, and abseiling, visitors can explore the wonders of the rainforest while encountering a variety of wildlife. The park culminates in a stunning cavern, inspired by the majestic Mulu Caves in Sarawak.
Adjacent to the resort, Exploria, Curiosity Cove, and ZooSchool offer immersive educational experiences for visitors of all ages. Exploria invites guests on digital expeditions through hyper-natural environments, while Curiosity Cove provides tactile play experiences designed to foster a love for nature in young children. Meanwhile, ZooSchool offers nature-based outdoor adventure programs aimed at nurturing curiosity and resilience in young minds.
