Maker’s Mark Introduces Cellar Aged Bourbon to Singapore: A Unique Twist on Mature American Whiskey

Maker’s Mark Kentucky Bourbon proudly unveils Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged, a limited-release expression making its debut in the Lion City. This annual global release challenges conventional wisdom about whiskey aging, showcasing how time can be harnessed to craft a richer, more complex bourbon.

A New Perspective on Aging Whiskey

Since its inception in 1953, Maker’s Mark has prioritized taste over time, striving to achieve a signature flavor profile that’s smooth, soft, and creamy. Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged stays true to this ethos, offering a nuanced, mature bourbon without the harsh tannic notes often associated with older whiskies.

The journey of Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged begins in traditional Kentucky warehouses, where barrels of classic distillate age for approximately six years, enduring the region’s distinctive climate. These barrels are then transferred to Maker’s Mark’s unique limestone whisky cellar for an additional five to six years, where the cool environment slows down tannic impact while allowing the bourbon to develop deeper flavors.

Craftsmanship and Flavor Profile

The inaugural release of Cellar Aged is a blend of 12-year-old and 11-year-old bourbon, bottled at cask strength (115.7 proof). With enticing notes of dark stone fruit, caramelized sugar, and toasted oak, this whiskey offers a sensory journey like no other. The palate is treated to a balanced interplay of oak and vanilla, complemented by fruity undertones, culminating in a velvety finish.

Continuing a Tradition of Innovation

Maker’s Mark has a history of pushing boundaries, from its unique mashbill featuring red winter wheat to innovations like Maker’s Mark 46 and Maker’s Mark Private Selection. Cellar Aged represents the latest chapter in this legacy, embodying Maker’s Mark’s commitment to quality and experimentation.

Exclusive Launch in Singapore

Singapore will be the only market in Southeast Asia to offer Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged, with Manhattan Bar hosting an exclusive launch from March 21st to March 26th, 2024. Selected establishments across the island will also carry the expression from April 1st, 2024. Additionally, whiskey enthusiasts can purchase Cellar Aged online at iShopChangi starting March 27th, 2024, priced at S$250.
