Vietjet Expands Hanoi Hub with New Routes to Melbourne and Hiroshima

Vietjet, the renowned Vietnamese airline, is poised to revolutionize air travel in the Asia-Pacific region with the introduction of new direct routes connecting Hanoi to Hiroshima in Japan and Melbourne in Australia. These eagerly awaited additions to Vietjet’s international flight network promise enhanced convenience and affordability for travelers, catering to the rising demand for air travel across the regions.

The unveiling of these exciting new routes took place at the Vietnam-Australia Business Forum 2024, graced by the presence of Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Both Vietnamese and Australian leaders expressed their enthusiasm for the expanded connectivity, applauding Vietjet for its remarkable growth trajectory.

Commencing on June 3, 2024, the Hanoi-Melbourne route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, offering seamless travel experiences for passengers. Return flights will depart from Melbourne on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Vietjet, already a key player in the Vietnam-Australia air corridor, currently operates 58 flights per week between Ho Chi Minh City and major Australian cities, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide, utilizing state-of-the-art aircraft like the A330 and A321.

In addition to the Hanoi-Melbourne service, Vietjet will inaugurate direct flights between Hanoi and Hiroshima from May 12, 2024. This groundbreaking route represents the first regular non-stop air link from the Chugoku and Shikoku regions to Vietnam. Operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, the Hanoi-Hiroshima route boasts a flight time of approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes, further bolstering Vietjet’s extensive flight network between Vietnam and Japan.

To celebrate the launch of these new routes, Singaporean travelers can seize the opportunity to secure budget-friendly tickets starting from just SGD80 (USD60) one-way, inclusive of taxes and fees. These promotional fares will be available every Friday from March 8, 2024, for travel between March 8 and December 31, 2024, excluding holidays and peak seasons.

Singaporean globetrotters are encouraged to embark on a multi-country adventure, exploring the rich cultural tapestry of both Vietnam and Japan. From the historic charm of Hanoi’s Old Quarter to the poignant landmarks of Hiroshima, travelers can immerse themselves in a myriad of experiences, including culinary delights and architectural wonders.
