Pilot Pen Introduces New Addition to Classic ‘The Shaker’ Line: Affordable and Stylish Mechanical Pencils

Pilot Pen, a leading brand in quality writing instruments, recently unveiled its latest addition to the beloved ‘The Shaker’ mechanical pencil line in Singapore. This new model, proudly made in Japan, offers an economical option while maintaining the signature functionality and style that users adore.

Since its launch in 1985, ‘The Shaker’ mechanical pencil line has been a staple in stationery collections worldwide, known for its innovative “Shake” or “Press” feeding mechanism. This mechanism allows users to effortlessly extend the lead by simply shaking the pencil or pressing on the cap, making it a favourite among students, professionals, and enthusiasts alike.

‘The Shaker’ mechanical pencil was like the Rolls Royce of mechanical pencils when I was still in primary school in the 80s. I still remember how proud some of us felt when we got our hands on them.

The newest addition to ‘The Shaker’ line-up comes at a more accessible price point, retailing at S$2.20 (with GST), without compromising on quality. It retains the renowned Shaker mechanism and features a retractable tip engineered to prevent lead breakage, ensuring a clean and mess-free writing experience.

Additionally, for the 0.5mm nib, three limited edition barrel colours – Pastel Mint Green, Pastel Pink, and Pastel Purple – have been introduced, adding a touch of style to the writing experience:

Available in both 0.5mm and 0.7mm lead sizes, the new model offers versatility to suit various writing preferences.

Designed for comfort and convenience, ‘The Shaker’ mechanical pencil boasts an ergonomic rubber grip and a built-in eraser, perfect for everyday use. Its attached clip allows users to securely attach the pencil to notebooks, pockets, and bags, making it ideal for those on the go.

The new Pilot Pen ‘The Shaker’ mechanical pencils are now available at all major bookstores, including NBC Stationery & Gifts, Hands, Popular Bookstores, and THINK Bookshop, starting from 27 February 2024.
