Crunchyroll, the global hub for anime enthusiasts, unveiled the winners of the highly anticipated 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. The event, held live in Tokyo, Japan, featured an array of global celebrity presenters, electrifying musical performances, and, most importantly, honored the exceptional creators, musicians, and performers shaping the landscape of anime.
Hosted by renowned voice actress Sally Amaki and popular entertainer Jon Kabira, the ceremony showcased an impressive lineup of celebrity presenters from various sectors of the entertainment industry. Notable personalities such as three-time GRAMMY-winning recording artist Megan Thee Stallion, Japanese singer-songwriter LiSA, award-winning actress Iman Vellani, and Academy Award-winning duo Phil Lord & Chris Miller, among others, graced the stage to announce the winners across multiple categories.
Global fans were treated to an unforgettable musical experience, with performances including the first live rendition of the official Anime Awards Theme Song, created and performed by esteemed composers Hiroyuki SAWANO and KOHTA YAMAMOTO. Additionally, a special performance of “battlecry,” the iconic opening song of Samurai Champloo, marked the show’s 20th anniversary, while Japanese pop duo YOASOBI delivered an electrifying rendition of their Anime Award-winning song “Idol,” ahead of their appearance at Coachella.
The Crunchyroll Anime Awards, an annual celebration of anime excellence, saw a record-breaking 34 million votes cast by fans worldwide. Countries such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Mexico, Spain, and the United States showed immense engagement, underlining anime’s global appeal.

Among the standout winners were JUJUTSU KAISEN Hidden Inventory / Premature Death, which clinched top honors in multiple categories including Anime of the Year and Best Action, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc, which secured Best Animation and Best Art Direction.
The event also recognized exceptional voice actor performances across various languages, showcasing the global reach and diverse talent within the anime industry.
