Acclaimed Production of Miss Saigon Set to Dazzle Singapore in August 2024

Excitement is building in Singapore as Base Entertainment Asia, in association with GWB Entertainment, announces the arrival of Cameron Mackintosh’s celebrated new production of Miss Saigon at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, starting August 15, 2024. Following a stellar run in Australia, where it wowed audiences at the Sydney Opera House, Miss Saigon is set to captivate Singaporean audiences for a strictly limited season.

Miss Saigon, a timeless musical masterpiece by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, tells the heart-wrenching tale of Kim, a young Vietnamese woman orphaned by war, who finds herself working in a bar owned by the enigmatic Engineer. Her life takes a tumultuous turn when she falls in love with Chris, an American G.I., only to be torn apart by the fall of Saigon. Over three years, Kim embarks on a journey of survival to reunite with Chris, unaware that she has borne his child. With its unforgettable score, featuring classics like “The Heat is On in Saigon,” “The Movie in My Mind,” and “American Dream,” this production promises to be an unforgettable theatrical experience.

The waitlist for tickets is now open at MissSaigon.sg until February 18, 2024, at 11:59 PM (SGT). Waitlist subscribers and Maybank Cardmembers will enjoy priority access starting February 20, 2024. Public ticket sales will commence on February 23, 2024, via Marina Bay Sands Ticketing and SISTIC.

Originally premiering in Australia in 1995 and returning in 2007, Miss Saigon’s new production took London by storm in 2014 with record-breaking sales and critical acclaim. Its success continued on Broadway and during a highly successful US Tour.

Directed by Laurence Connor, with musical staging by Bob Avian and additional choreography by Geoffrey Garratt, this production boasts a sensational cast and stunning production design. With music by Claude-Michel Schönberg and lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and Alain Boublil, Miss Saigon promises to be a theatrical event not to be missed.

As Singapore eagerly anticipates the arrival of this beloved musical, audiences can look forward to being swept away by its powerful storytelling and unforgettable melodies. Don’t miss your chance to experience the magic of Miss Saigon at the Sands Theatre this August.
