Museum Roundtable’s Spectacular Red Packet Designs Herald the Year of the Dragon

The National Heritage Board’s (NHB) Museum Roundtable Hongbao Campaign is back for its 10th edition, igniting the spirit of the Year of the Dragon with fiery-red hongbao designs. This annual extravaganza, featuring unique red packet designs representing the Chinese zodiac animal of the year, promises a vibrant celebration of culture and heritage.

New Participants Join the Festivities

In an exciting development, the Char Yong (Dabu) Association Heritage Hall, a recent addition to the Museum Roundtable (MR) since 2023, will make its debut in the campaign. Joining them are four returning MR members – the Republic of Singapore Air Force Museum, the Singapore Navy Museum, the Singapore Maritime Gallery, and the Singapore Sports Museum.

Exclusive Red Packets for Collectors

From January 12 to February 9, 2024, visitors to any of the 43 participating museums, heritage institutions, and galleries can collect a set of exclusive red packets. Each visitor is entitled to one set of eight red packets from any venue, available while stocks last.

The Collector’s Box Set Returns

A highlight of the campaign is the much-anticipated Collector’s Box Set, a limited edition large gift box with a custom-designed bag. Priced at $108 (nett), the box set features two complete sets of the 43 red packet designs representing the participating MR members, along with an exclusive design for the National Heritage Board. This totals to 88 pieces of red packets with distinct orange backgrounds and subtle color variations on dragon motifs.

The Collector’s Box Sets will be available for purchase exclusively at the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall. Pre-registration for specified time slots on January 20 and 21, 2024, is encouraged, with walk-in purchases on a first-come, first-served basis on January 27, 2024. There are 450 Collector’s Box Sets available, with the majority reserved for pre-registered sales and the remainder for walk-in purchases.

Facebook Giveaways for Enthusiasts

As a delightful addition to the campaign, the “I Love Museums” Facebook page will host two giveaways. The first, from January 12 to 22, encourages participants to share photographs of themselves with the red packets collected at the museum, with a chance to win the coveted Collector’s Box Set. The second giveaway, from January 30 to February 6, invites participants to comment on their favorite aspect of this year’s Museum Roundtable Hongbao Campaign, with 50 winners receiving a full set of all 43 red packets.

Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the cultural festivities and celebrate the Year of the Dragon with these stunning hongbao designs from the Museum Roundtable.
