StarHub and ACE Team Up to Bring ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Finals Live to Migrant Workers

In a bid to promote inclusivity and provide entertainment for Singapore’s migrant worker community, StarHub joined forces with Assurance Care Engagement (ACE) Group to organize live screenings of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Finals 2023 between India and Australia. The event took place yesterday at two recreational centers, Cochrane and Terusan, attracting nearly 3000 migrant workers.

Aiming for Inclusivity

StarHub, a telecommunications provider in Singapore, collaborated with ACE Group to create an inclusive space for migrant workers to enjoy the thrilling cricket match. Recognizing the importance of fostering community and connection, the live screenings were organized with the goal of bringing people together through the shared experience of sports.

Live Screenings for Migrant Workers

The ICC Cricket World Cup Finals 2023 showcased an intense match between India and Australia, culminating in Australia’s sixth-time victory as world champions. The migrant workers, supported by DBS Bank, Nokia, and the Singapore Anti-Tuberculosis Association (SATA), witnessed a historic performance by Australian batsman Travis Head, who scored a century with 137 runs. This remarkable achievement led Australia to halt India’s ten-game undefeated streak, creating an unforgettable moment in cricket history.

Community Support

The initiative was made possible through the collaboration with DBS Bank, Nokia, and SATA, demonstrating a collective effort to support and engage with the migrant worker community in Singapore. By providing a platform for live screenings, the event not only entertained but also celebrated the diverse cultures and backgrounds within the community.

ACE Group’s Mission

Established in 2020, the Ministry of Manpower’s ACE Group is dedicated to safeguarding and enhancing the well-being of migrant workers in Singapore’s workforce. This partnership with StarHub aligns with ACE Group’s commitment to creating positive experiences for the migrant community, offering moments of joy and connection outside of their work routine.

As the curtains closed on the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Finals 2023, the live screenings organized by StarHub and ACE Group proved to be a successful endeavor in fostering community spirit and inclusivity.
