Ray of Hope received a staggering $150,000 for this year’s Let’s Take A Walk 2023 charity event

Over the 4th and 5th of November 2023, a heartwarming and inspiring event took place as more than 2,200 compassionate souls came together for the Let’s Take A Walk 2023 charity event. Organized by the dedicated team at Raleigh Singapore, this remarkable initiative was 100% volunteer-led, and it not only met but exceeded its target of 2,000 participants.

What’s even more incredible is that this event raised an astonishing $150,000 for the registered charity, Ray of Hope.

The Journey Begins

On the 4th of November, the event kicked off with two challenging walks: the 100km and 50km journeys. The adventure began with a 7 am start at the iconic Singapore Sports Hub and a 10 pm commencement from SAFRA Punggol. With unwavering determination, more than 150 brave individuals embarked on an overnight odyssey, showcasing their resilience and commitment to the cause.

The Let’s Take A Walk volunteers played a vital role by offering essential support at care points throughout the 33-hour event. These dedicated individuals ensured that participants had the assistance they needed. In total, approximately 1,400 people participated in various walks on this day, united in their mission to make a difference.

A New Day, A New Walk

The momentum continued on the 5th of November with the 5km and 10km charity walks. Participants gathered at the Singapore Sports Hub, with kick-off times at 9 am and 8 am, respectively. Around 700 individuals came together to take part in these shorter walks, their steps echoing their commitment to giving back to the community.

A Virtual Journey of Compassion

The spirit of unity extended beyond the physical event. From 21 October to 3 November, a virtual edition of Let’s Take A Walk allowed nearly 200 participants to cover pledged distances of 20km, 50km, or even 100km. These passionate walkers completed their challenges through multiple walks or in a single, awe-inspiring attempt, proving that the bonds of compassion transcend physical boundaries.

Walking for a Cause

All the registration fees and cash donations from this remarkable event were channeled to Ray of Hope, a local crowdfunding charity committed to mobilizing community resources and support for individuals and families in need. The participants’ generosity and unwavering dedication will make a real difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
