Cruise enthusiasts, get ready to embark on a journey like never before with Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) latest addition, the Norwegian Aqua. This innovative vessel, part of the expanded Prima Plus Class, is set to sail in April 2025, promising an unforgettable cruise experience. Let’s dive into the details and explore what makes the Norwegian Aqua a game-changer for your next adventure.
The Norwegian Aqua offers a new way to explore the Caribbean with its seven-day itineraries departing from Port Canaveral, Florida. This sought-after cruise port serves as your gateway to idyllic island destinations, including Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private island in the Bahamas.
Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, renowned for their craftsmanship, is behind the creation of the Norwegian Aqua. Building upon the success of Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva, this next-generation Prima Plus Class vessel sets new standards for cruise ships. With a 10% size and capacity increase from its sister ships, Norwegian Aqua spans 1,056 feet in length, weighs 156,300 gross tons, and can accommodate 3,571 guests at double occupancy. This means more outdoor space and the highest staffing levels of any new contemporary cruise ship, ensuring your every need is met.
Prepare to be captivated by the lively and colorful hull art designed by NCL’s first major female hull artist, Allison Hueman. Known for her global street art and brand collaborations, Hueman’s unique art style, a blend of ethereal realism, takes center stage on the Norwegian Aqua. Her design, entitled “Where the Sky Meets the Sea,” curated by Goldman Global Arts, beautifully blends abstract and figurative representations of the sea and sky, governed by ancient goddesses.
The Norwegian Aqua introduces the world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide – the Aqua Slidecoaster. With dual slides and a magnetic lift that propels you through two exhilarating courses, this NCL exclusive experience guarantees three stories of exciting twists and turns around the ship’s funnel.
The fun doesn’t stop there. The new Glow Court, a digital sports complex with an interactive LED floor, offers a variety of activities during the day and transforms into a vibrant nightclub at night.
For fans of the Prima Class, your favorite experiences like The Drop and the Stadium are still available on Norwegian Aqua. The Stadium has even been expanded to offer even more complimentary activities for guests.
For those seeking an extra level of luxury, Norwegian Aqua offers NCL’s first-ever Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites. These spacious suites are located in The Haven by Norwegian, a premium keycard-access-only complex. With separate living and dining areas, three bathrooms, a sprawling balcony, and three bedrooms, including two with king-size beds and floor-to-ceiling windows, these suites offer breathtaking ocean views.
The Haven on Norwegian Aqua is the largest complex in the fleet, boasting 123 well-appointed suites, including access to an expansive sundeck, an infinity pool overlooking the ship’s stern, an outdoor spa with a glass-walled sauna and cold room, two hot tubs, a private lounge, an exclusive bar pouring rare spirits and vintages, and sweeping sea views from every public space. Haven guests can enjoy 24-hour butler service and a dedicated concierge team.
Families can enjoy the return of NCL’s popular Splash Academy for children aged three to 12. Adolescents aged 13 to 17 will have their dedicated space at Entourage, NCL’s signature teen club. On the ship’s main pool deck, guests can lounge and relax on day beds, a first for NCL’s fleet.
The expanded Vibe Beach Club offers adults an elevated and exclusive experience. With additional outdoor spaces to explore, guests can spend their days wandering along the most expansive Ocean Boulevard to date, featuring the Oceanwalk, a glass bridge on each side of the ship, Infinity Beach with expanded views, and intimate pools on each side of the ship, and La Terrazza, an open-air lounge with sweeping sea views.
Following Caribbean sailings from Port Canaveral, Norwegian Aqua will offer five and seven-day voyages to Bermuda from New York City from August 2025 through October 2025. Then, the ship will set sail on five and seven-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries from Miami, the “Cruise Capital of the World,” beginning October 2025 through April 2026.
As the new year approaches, stay tuned for more exciting features and guest experiences that will be unveiled on Norwegian Aqua.
