Korean Air Achieves 5-Star Global Airline Rating for Seventh Consecutive Year

In a remarkable feat, Korean Air has secured a prestigious 5-star global airline rating in the APEX Official Airline Ratings for the seventh consecutive year. This places Korean Air among an elite group of airlines that have consistently earned the highest rating, reaffirming its commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Headquartered in New York and founded in 1979, the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) is a non-profit organization boasting 482 members from the airline industry, including airlines and aircraft manufacturers. APEX has been conducting an airline rating program since 2018, harnessing passenger feedback collected through the “TripIt” mobile application.

The feedback gathered by APEX spans over one million flights across 600 airlines worldwide, encompassing various aspects of the passenger experience. These aspects include seat comfort, cabin service, in-flight meals, and in-flight entertainment. Professional external auditing companies then meticulously compile and certify the APEX Official Airline Ratings based on this feedback.

Korean Air’s impressive 5-star rating reflects the airline’s unwavering commitment to providing excellent service to its passengers. This accolade is attributed to the airline’s first-class Kosmo Suites 2.0, celebrated for their intuitive features and exceptional comfort. Korean Air’s diverse in-flight entertainment system, offering an extensive array of content, also played a pivotal role in securing the 5-star status.

Moreover, the airline is recognized for its in-flight culinary offerings, which feature delectable meals crafted from seasonal ingredients and an extensive selection of quality wines. Korean Air has consistently maintained its 5-star rating since 2018, placing it in a select league of global airlines, a group that includes the likes of Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Etihad Airways.

In a commitment to catering to diverse customer preferences, Korean Air recently introduced a new Korean-style vegan meal, inspired by traditional Korean cuisine. This meal incorporates a variety of fresh vegetables and seasonal ingredients, meeting the needs of a broad spectrum of passengers.

Korean Air’s relentless dedication to enhancing the customer experience has been duly acknowledged. The airline was awarded a 5-star airline rating by Skytrax for the second consecutive time. Furthermore, it secured recognition in three categories in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards 2023, including the best business and first-class offerings.
