In a significant partnership announcement, New World Development Company Limited and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish and manage a retail store within 11 SKIES, a groundbreaking retail-tainment destination in Hong Kong.
This strategic collaboration aims to bolster transportation connectivity, introduce fresh tourism and cultural offerings, and elevate the travel-tainment experience on Lantau Island. Situated in close proximity to Hong Kong International Airport and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, both 11 SKIES and the Resort are well-positioned to capitalize on their strategic location.
11 SKIES is an integral component of SKYCITY, set to gradually unfold its wonders from 2022 to 2025. It stands as Hong Kong’s largest one-stop retail-tainment and business landmark, boasting a sprawling floor area exceeding 3.8 million square feet. The complex’s three Grade-A office towers, K11 ATELIER 11 SKIES, have been operational since the previous year, housing tenants predominantly in finance, wealth management, healthcare, wellness services, and cross-border ventures. The upcoming phase of 11 SKIES will see the gradual introduction of its retail-tainment sector, featuring a remarkable lineup of over 800 shops, 120 dining establishments, and eight world-class, first-of-its-kind entertainment attractions.
Located strategically near the airport and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, it is poised to become the gateway and bridgehead to an 86-million-strong population within the Greater Bay Area’s “1.5-hour living circle.”
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is continually enriching its offerings to solidify its status as a premier tourism destination in the city. The reimagined Castle of Magical Dreams, the awe-inspiring nighttime spectacle “Momentous,” and the introduction of Duffy’s newest friend, LinaBell, have all captured the hearts of locals and are now enchanting visitors from around the world as inbound tourism makes a comeback. Exciting developments are on the horizon, including the unveiling of the “Dream Makers” Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse Statue in October, sure to bring joy to fans of all ages.
The highly anticipated “World of Frozen,” the world’s largest Frozen-themed land, is set to open its doors in November, adding a defining chapter to the Resort’s roster of world-class attractions.
According to the terms of the MoU, the collaboration between New World and Hong Kong Disneyland holds the potential for synergies in various domains. These may encompass retail and product partnerships, fostering connections with the 26 million members within New World’s loyalty programs ecosystem.
Additionally, marketing collaborations are on the horizon at different K11 locations throughout Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
