FairPrice on Wheels to bring Vibrant Block Parties to Celebrate Singapore’s 58th Birthday

In honour of Singapore’s 58th birthday, FairPrice Group (FPG) is thrilled to announce its upcoming block parties at two heartland locations, Ang Mo Kio and Jurong West, on 5 August 2023. These exciting events, hosted by FPG’s roving FairPrice on Wheels trucks, are set to pay tribute to local flavours and nostalgic experiences while fostering a sense of community celebration. To add to the festivity, time-limited National Day promotions will also be available from 3 to 16 August 2023.

FairPrice on Wheels, FPG’s Do Good Initiative, launched in 2020, will play a pivotal role in bringing the heartland block parties to life. Attendees from Ang Mo Kio and Jurong, as well as visitors, can look forward to immersing themselves in a carnival-like atmosphere, with over 200 local and housebrand products on display. The block parties will feature specially curated game booths and food stalls showcasing FPG’s own brands and Made in Singapore products, evoking a sense of nostalgia for residents and celebrating the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

One of the highlights of the event is the distribution of a special tote bag to shoppers who make purchases above $10 at the FairPrice on Wheels Truck, exclusively available at the block parties. No registration is required for these block parties, and everyone is warmly invited to join and partake in the complimentary treats and exciting activities lined up for the celebrations.

What to Expect at the Block Parties:

• Refreshment Corner: Beat the heat with FairPrice’s special treats and refreshing beverages, including the popular FairPrice coconut water, perfect for quenching your thirst amidst the festivities.
• Kacang Puteh: Take a trip down memory lane with this traditional and beloved Southeast Asian snack. Delight in an array of FairPrice mixed nuts, from sugar peanuts to green peas, all served in traditional paper cones, adding to the jubilant atmosphere of the celebrations.
• Claw Challenge: Test your skills at the claw machine for a chance to win everyone’s favourite FairPrice potato chips. Try your luck to collect the complete variety of flavours available!

Caring for the Community – Distribution of FPG50 Goodie Bags

In the spirit of its 50th anniversary, FPG remains committed to making a difference in more communities, supporting the livelihoods and well-being of needy residents. As part of the National Day celebrations, FPG will distribute FPG50 goodie bags worth over $20 to families in need within both estates.

Advisor to Ang Mo Kio GRC Nadia Ahmad Samdin and Advisor to Jurong GRC, Shawn Huang will be joining FPG at both block parties on 5 August to distribute these specially-curated goodie bags to lower-income families.
