[Opening Promo] Fei Siong Group Brings Taiwan Night Markets to Cineleisure Orchard in Singapore, Showcasing Iconic Street Food Across 19 Food Kiosks and 5 Mini Restaurants

Singapore’s home-grown F&B group, Fei Siong, recently announced the grand launch of its latest venture, TaiWan Night Markets, in the heart of Orchard at Cineleisure. Scheduled for 28 July 2023, the concept aims to be a cultural promotion center, immersing foodies in the vibrant experience of Taiwan street food.

The TaiWan Night Markets will feature an array of 19 street food kiosks and 5 mini restaurants, sprawling over an 8000 square feet outlet with ample indoor seating for 300 guests at the basement level of Cineleisure. The Fei Siong Group, has collaborated with Mr. Chen Chun Lin, CEO of Taiwan Ever Victorious International Co. Ltd, to bring this experience to Singapore.

The inception of the TaiWan Night Markets concept dates back six years ago when Mr. Chen and Mr. Tan Kim Siong, Chairman of Fei Siong Group, developed a strong bond based on shared values and a passion for Taiwanese street food. Mr. Tan’s love for Taiwan’s delicious flavors led him to travel there frequently, while Mr. Chen’s upbringing in Sanhe Night Market fueled his deep appreciation for food culture. With the easing of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Chen took on the role of project director to turn this vision into a reality.

Thanks to their partnership, Singaporeans can now enjoy authentic Taiwan iconic street food without having to travel to Taiwan, all in one central location in Orchard, Singapore. Featuring imported push carts from Taiwan, Fei Siong Group is committed to recreating the authentic dining experience of Taiwan’s night markets for local consumers in Singapore.

The inspiration for TaiWan Night Markets stems from Taiwan’s cultural tradition of gathering around temples, giving rise to bustling markets that showcase local culture. These markets typically start with poultry and vegetable stalls in the morning and later transform into snack stalls to cater to evening crowds.

What to Expect

The TaiWan Night Markets team meticulously curated this cultural experience by sampling various street foods from major Taiwanese night markets, including Cisheng Temple in Dadaocheng, Ningxia Night Market, Shilin Night Market, Raohe Night Market, Qingguang Night Market, and Yansan Night Market.

The grand opening on 28 July will feature six must-try Taiwan street food delights: Night Market Huge Steak, Taiwanese QQ Sweet Potato Balls, Peanut Roll Ice Cream, Salty Crispy Chicken, Super Nutritious Sandwich, and Sanchong Braised Pork Rice. These delicacies will be available at food kiosks and mini restaurants, each offering value-for-money treats priced at an average of $5.

We were invited for a media tasting prior to the launch and these were some of items we sampled:

Taiwanese Sausage with Sticky Rice 大腸包小腸

This is a favourite of mine at the Night Markets in Taiwan and I was delighted to to able to enjoy it in Singapore. As per the description, the Taiwanese sausage is wrapped in a roll of sticky rice, after both have been grilled with a nice char.

Oyster Omelet 蚵仔煎

Another iconic dish, this is a staple and must-have items that will appeal to everyone. It is different from the local version, with a sweeter chili sauce and less starchy presentation.

Super Nutritious Sandwich 營養三明治

Freshly prepared on-site, every fried sandwich is presented with flavourful and tender braised eggs, along with crunchy cucumbers.

Taiwan Sweet Potato Ball 台灣地瓜球

Special equipment was imported from Taiwan to fully present this dish locally, ensuring an authentic experience. Choose from your favourite toppings such as plum powder, pepper powder, peanut powder or chocolate powder.

We love the experience eating at the TaiWan Night Markets and it is best enjoyed together with a group of friends so that you can order many items to share together. Cineleisure has gone off the radar for many shoppers in Orchard of late, this fresh new concept from Fei Siong group may just be what the mall needs to bring back the crowd.
