Brompton, the renowned hand-built folding bike manufacturer, celebrates a momentous milestone as its one-millionth iconic bike sets foot in Singapore during its year-long world tour. The unique bike, proudly displaying the rich heritage of the company, will be showcased at the Funan Mall Atrium Space from 19 – 23 July 2023, offering enthusiasts and the public a chance to marvel at this exceptional achievement.
Dubbed “Frame #1,000,000,” the One Millionth Brompton Bike commemorates the brand’s journey since its inception in 1975. With over 90,000 bikes handcrafted annually across 47 countries, Brompton’s commitment to skilled craftsmanship is embodied in this special bike.
To mark this historic moment, the One Millionth Bike features a custom design inspired by Brompton’s original model, the ‘Mark One.’ Its eye-catching red main frame, complemented by silver parts, a one-of-a-kind million decal, an ID plate, and aluminium touchpoints, pay homage to the company’s illustrious history. Additionally, a Brooks C17 saddle, reminiscent of the seat used in the very first Brompton bike, adds a nostalgic touch. Notably, the bike is hallmarked with the signatures of both Brompton’s founder and inventor Andrew Ritchie and current CEO, Will Butler-Adams, reflecting their personal involvement in this momentous creation.
Embarking on an international tour across 18 countries in 12 months, the One Millionth Brompton bike allows the global community to experience the joy of riding this extraordinary bike. Singapore marks a key stop on this world tour, and to celebrate, Brompton is organizing a mass ride for Brompton owners on Sunday, 23 July 2023, at 9:00 AM. This event, held at Singapore’s Marina Bay, aims to create a spectacular sea of Brompton bikes, symbolizing the collective belief in a different future – greener, more connected, and more active – powered by bikes.
Part of the company’s ‘All Together Different’ campaign, the One Millionth Brompton event showcases the diverse ways Brompton fits into people’s lives and emphasizes the vibrant community that embraces these iconic folding bikes.
Complementing the celebrations, Brompton Singapore announces the launch of the Brompton Archive Edition, a collection of limited-edition bikes designed around the original Mark One specifications. The Archive Edition offers three historical colours: Baby Pink, Arctic Blue, and Apple Green. An exclusive fourth colourway, a fun two-tone Apple Green with Arctic Blue, will be exclusively available in the APAC region.
Each Archive Edition bike boasts a robust handmade steel frame, three hub gears, dynamo lights powered by the rider’s movement, and a silver rear rack for carrying cargo. These exclusive bikes will be available for purchase at the Brompton Junction store in Funan Mall and authorized dealers starting from 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
Join Brompton as we celebrate this historic milestone and embrace a future powered by the joy of cycling.
