Sony reveals the feature-filled mid-range Xperia 10V smartphone. Compact and lightweight, it is easy to carry everywhere yet boasts a best-in-class 5,000mAh battery, newly equipped front stereo speakers, a bright OLED display and a triple-lens camera.
Stereo speakers at the front of the phone deliver powerful, balanced true stereo sound.
In addition, the 6.1-inch, full HD+ OLED display is approximately 1.5 times brighter than the previous model, improving visibility outdoors. The TRILUMINOS Display for mobile draws on Sony’s years of TV expertise to optimise the display for movie viewing; reproducing exquisite, vibrant images.
Equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack, it also supports wireless transmission technology LDAC, so you can enjoy high-resolution high-quality sound with both wired and wireless headphones. In addition, DSEE Ultimate, which uses Sony’s proprietary AI technology, reproduces the sound source of the streaming service 8 with high-quality sound equivalent to high resolution.
The camera uses scene, conditions and subject detection technology to automatically select the ideal settings for the best shot.
With a choice of three lenses on the rear camera (focal lengths 16mm (F2.2), 26mm (F1.8), and 54mm (F2.2)) a host of different shots are possible. In addition, the wide-angle lens is equipped with a new image sensor that is approximately 1.6 times larger than the previous model, allowing more light to be captured and enabling clearer shooting in darker locations with less noise.
Optical image stabilisation makes it possible to take beautiful shots of difficult-to-shoot dark locations, scenes with large contrasts, and night scenes.
The hand shutter function on the front camera allows hands-free easy selfies by automatically releasing the shutter when you point your palm at the device. Sony’s unique hybrid image stabilisation (Optical SteadyShot), which combines optical image stabilisation and electronic image stabilisation, enables video recording with less blur.
Officially the world’s lightest 5G smartphone with a 5,000mAh battery at 159g, it can offer a huge 34 hours (approx.) of video playback. In addition to IP65/68 waterproof and dustproof performance, the display is durable thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass Vicus which is highly resistant to both drop and scratch performance.
The Xperia 10V comes in the same colours (lavender, black) as Sony’s latest fully wireless headphones WF-C700N (sold separately). So, you can enjoy colour-coordinating your smartphone and headphones when out and about, in addition to immersing yourself in music with the noise-cancelling performance of the headphones.
For ease of use, Xperia 10V is equipped with Side Sense; for quick shortcuts to apps and 21:9
Multi-Window Switch divides the screen into two sections so you can easily browse the web and watch a video at the same time using its full 21:9 display.
Xperia 10 IV achieves zero use of plastic in the individual packaging. It also uses Sony’s unique Original Blended Material for the product box and main tray which is made from bamboo, sugarcane fires and post-consumer recycled paper.
In addition, SORPLAS has been used within a raw material for some elements of both the internal and external main body.
The Xperia 10V has a colour-matching optional cover with a built-in stand, convenient when watching videos on the front stereo speakers. This slim cover is designed to fit the shape of Xperia 10V body combining ease of holding and functionality. It also uses Sony’s recycled SORPLAS as part of the raw material.
The Xperia 10V will be available in Lavender and Black, for pre-order from 18 May to 30 June at a retail price of S$679 inclusive of GST.
